The oft-delayed Mercedes-AMG One hypercar will finally go into production around the middle of next year, the firm has confirmed.

Mercedes-Benz's performance division has written to customers who have ordered the 1000bhp-plus Formula 1-derived hypercar with the news that the build of the first of the 275 models will comence in 2022, finally signalling the realisation of the project after a string of delays.

Cheap skates Mercedes Benz. The GMA T50 and T33 will be out before the AMG One reaches any owner and are much more desirable.

I dont have to explain anything to you in detail on why I choose any car, just like I wont ask you why you choose a particular colour of car. I just think this car has lost its wow factor as Mercedes has dragged out the launch far too long. It originally was supposed to be launched in 2019 and is 3 years late. The world and other choices of cars change alot in 3 years, the competition in this segment is still very large despite the hefty price. There are certain things in the interior seem a bit cheapskate, like for example the screens are the same as those in an A-class and also the controls on the wheel are shared with other budget Mercedes models, this shouldnt be the case in a $2mill car, everything should be bespoke.

Mercedes AMG One: First contact

According to this article, the first production cars should arrive in August.

They also mention that the ICE will develop 571PS and the three electric motors 498PS, for 1070PS total power. Interestingly, they also claim the gearbox in the car is a DCT, which would certainly be news as before now everything - including MB's own stat page - had indicated it would be an automated manual.
