E-Class [Official] Mercedes-AMG E 63 4MATIC+ and E 63 S 4MATIC+

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a range of executive cars manufactured by Mercedes-Benz in various engine and body configurations. Produced since September 1953, the E-Class falls as a midrange in the Mercedes line-up, and has been marketed worldwide across five generations.
Isn't the official 0-100, 3.4 secs?
Yes, but it seems it's faster than claimed. This is second video that shows 3 sec to 100kmh, and 10 sec to 200kmh.
See stopwatch figures.
This numbers are very very close to 991 Turbo S !
0-100kmh ~ 3sec
0-200kmh ~ 10sec
0-300kmh ~ 30sec
E63s W213 almost match 991 Turbo S acceleration !

Turbo S also need ~30sec to 300kmh.
W213 63 AMG is spectacular.

It is confusing when a random video shows the car can do 0-100 in 3 secs and the official figure is 3.4..the timer in the video starts precisely when the car begins to roll

It's not first time.
Porsche 911 for example.
It's faster than claimed.

The car is such a weapon! Shame there are not doing the coupe..

Is this a fact?

And if it is, why not? I understand they haven't done one in the previous gen, but it was normal during the CLK days. The CLK got some of the most amazing models ever made by MB/AMG in fact, namely the black series and DTM versions, including cabrio......good times.

There were several articles or interviews stating that AMG would not build an E Class Coupe. Why ? I found this is Car Advice :
The chances of a high-powered Mercedes-AMG E63 version of either the new-generation E-Class Coupe and future E-Class Cabriolet models is highly unlikely, CarAdvice can reveal.
The new-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe was revealed at the 2017 Detroit motor show, where Mercedes-AMG chief Tobias Moers told CarAdvice the company wasn’t planning to give the swoopy two-door the full go-fast treatment.
“That’s not finally decided,” Moers said. “As of now, no.
“We know what we will bring to the market with the E-Class Coupe, but not an E63,” he said. “That’s not a growing segment. We have a very performance-oriented C-Class Coupe and the very successful S-Class Coupe, and the question is always price – where is the price going to be for such a car.”

Weird. Because a decently specced C coupe already costs as much as an S class.

The E class coupe will have a high performance version the AMG E50 coupe. Just not with the AMG V8. I get the sense that MB are making the V8s more exclusive where you can't get it in every class even the CLS might not get a V8.

Am I missing something just watched the video the 0-100 time was 3.3 secs not 3?
Watch left circle ( analogue )
Untitled.webp

Digital speedo isn't precise as analogue, it jumps from speed to speed, next digital speed shown is 105kmh. That's almost 0,6 sec ( 0,576 ) due to change shown number. Speed is changing in meantime.
Untitled2.webp

It shows 93kmh at 02,816 and 3,006 and changed to 105kmh at 3,392.
Untitled3.webp

Speed isn't same at 2,8 , 3 and 3,3 sec ( in reality ), it raising, car accelerates and digital speedo doesn't show it precise ( in every moment speed unlike analogue ) with exact speed at the moment.
At least we have proof that is faster than claimed.
Below 3,4 sec to 105kmh ( if we watch digital speedo, on analogue it is close to 110kmh ).

Without a VBox or some satellite measuring device attached to the car a stopwatch speedometer reading is the most useless and inaccurate way to measure a cars performance. I'm not saying this because it's a E63 thread ,I just hate these sort of videos.

was just about to say how do you know which is more accurate the analogue or the digital read out they may be both be out? i agree vbox/satellite is the only way to be sure. If this car could get to 100 is 3 sec MB would not be advertising 3.4 secs.

All cars speedos are not accurate most have approx 2 to 3% over read compared to true speed this is an aid for drivers to avoid speeding. As for the E63S in the above video it hits indicated 100kmh in approx 3,0sec and then 111kmh in 3,16sec so from approx 97kmh true speed to 108kmh true speed it takes about 0,16sec which means it will hit true 100kmh in approx 3,05sec so it is a 3sec car

So why does MB not advertise its true performance?
