C-Class [Official] Mercedes-AMG C63

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a series of compact executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Introduced in 1993 as a replacement for the 190 (W201) range, the C-Class was the smallest model in the marque's line-up until the W168 A-Class arrived in 1997.

I look forward to the eventual reviews and comparison tests with its competitors. With the M3/M4 not impressing everybody these days, AMG has a chance to "win" with this generation of the C-AMG car in terms of performance and driving dynamics.

I went to the Canadian International Auto Show yesterday and saw the new C63 in real life. It was white. To me, the exterior appearance of the C63 was a let down of sorts. Compared to the M3, it looks very pedestrian and not as exciting as the previous W204 C63. The M3, however, looks fantastic, IMO. Of course, looks are subjective......perhaps I just like the more angular type of look for a 4 door sport sedan.

I really do not see a difference in the shut lines. You must be talking about the nearly straight "cheek" line under the headlights on the C63. (The S63 is the same.)
I believe the designers did that to make room for the larger vent openings in the front spolier.

Take a better look. They are completely different. I am talking about the line that separates the hood from the bumper/grille.

Everything below the headlight is completely different, and on the sides of the headlights too. But I specifically mean the hood shutline.

Man, you really have an eye for shut lines, MB should hire you. I agree it does look better.
Not as intrusive...
(I still want to see a ps of the new C63 with the traditional grill. I think that would look better than the one presented.)

Never noticed this before, but the C63 has a different hood shutline compared to all the other C models.
They should change this for all non C63 models please!!! Why isn't this being discussed over several pages already?

My guess is that the awkward shut lines on the sports grill is the result of the compromise made by using the same bonnet for both traditional grill and the sports grill. Where else for the AMG model, the bonnet is different from the standard C-class, so the designers have the freedom to get the bonnet/front grill shut line right.
