P1 [Official] McLaren P1 Supercar

The McLaren P1 (codenamed P12) is a flagship sports car produced by McLaren Automotive. It is the second installment in McLaren's Ultimate Series after the McLaren F1. Considered to be the spiritual successor to the F1, the P1 was one of the first high performance sports cars to be introduced incorporating hybrid technology; the Porsche 918 Spyder having begun taking orders prior to the P1 and the LaFerrari introduced alongside it.
Alexander West - Anglesey International GP, 1:21 behind 918, then 1:19 with no 918 in front. Corsa tyres and passenger.

EDIT: Sent out some PMs at McLife, the video was shot at 44Hz and played at 52Hz. Both were 2up and driven by International GT Open drivers.

I ran a timer and measured 80.8s for the 918 and 79.75s for the P1 on this video. Applying a correction means multiplying by 52/44 giving:

80.8s x (52/44) = 95.5s for the 918

and

79.75s x (52/44) = 94.25s for the P1

So 1:34.25 and 1:35.5.

Still very decent given 2up but not Group C speed.;)

(1up) 1. BAC MONO Oliver Webb 1:31.00 284 / 540
(2up) 2. McLaren P1 Alexander West 1:34.25 916 / 1490
(2up) 3. Porsche 918 Spyder Pro. 1:35.50 887 / 1640
(1up) 4. McLaren 675LT Spider unknown 1:35.70 675 / 1368
(1up) 5. Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 (997) Chris Harris 1:36.10 500 / 1360
(1up) 6. Ferrari 488 GTB unknown 1:36.90 670 / 1544

Makes far more sense now.:D

A bit of comedy. I'm quite sure the opinion of someone who owns both has more clout

Dumbest automotive discussion I've read in quite some time...I'm sure Manny Khoshbin, having driven both of these cars for a while, knows a thing or two about the characteristics of both

I'm guessing that isn't the same 4 liter engine found in the 720S (the M840T), am I right?
The turbos likely aren't the same and the cams are probably different but it wouldn't surprise me if the rest was very similar.

Never got see one of these bad boys up close in real life.....Out of curiosity , can anyone more in the know about P1 inform how the build quality is (and how it compares to , say, a 918, LaFer or even a Chiron) ?

P1 LM4 was out on the recent Mclaren F1 25th Anniversary Tour - this one is papaya orange.XP1LM and LM1, both looking near-identical, were also there :)

Today 5 years ago, the P1 was unveiled to the public for the first time. Looked so weird back then.

I've seen quite few, it's the most spec dependent modern hypercar. In some combinations, it looks incredible and in others, it looks soft & lacks presence. It's like the Veyron with how tiny it look looks in person.

Build quality is the same as it is on all modern McLarens, which is very good - the brand goes for robust minimalism. Definitely not million dollar build quality, it must be said.

Interior room is lacking because of the gen. 1 carbon Monocell sills. The driver and passenger are literally rubbing shoulders.
