P1 [Official] McLaren P1 Supercar

The McLaren P1 (codenamed P12) is a flagship sports car produced by McLaren Automotive. It is the second installment in McLaren's Ultimate Series after the McLaren F1. Considered to be the spiritual successor to the F1, the P1 was one of the first high performance sports cars to be introduced incorporating hybrid technology; the Porsche 918 Spyder having begun taking orders prior to the P1 and the LaFerrari introduced alongside it.
Still looking gorgeous, especially in this color. P1 is ageing really well...

I was staying for the last 10 days in Stockholm and I had very near of my place Mclaren dealership. Everytime I went by, it was always something new. So I said I'm gonna stop one last time and there it was this white P1. What a car! Stunning beast!

Magnificent! We don't see the P1 down here in SA but when I was in Dubai a year ago, I got to see two P1s among a whole lot of exotics - Chiron included - and I was blown away. I had no idea it was going to be so much better looking in the flesh. The LaFerrari next to it looked ungainly.

Oh, and @mihc, thank you for sharing your lovely photos. I always appreciate them.

This Koshbin is a weird guy. Everytime I see yt vids from him, he is driving one of his supercars around the same blocks near his "garage". Sometimes with straight line speeds way above any inner city speed limits. Ok, I don't care ... but he obviously never ever has driven e.g. his P1 on a track! In this vid he even didn't know if his P1 had 7 years old tires on from delivery day or if they had been changed already. This tells you everything, how such people are using those "weapons". Definitly not for the purpose, they've been designed for.

I mean the guy wanted to buy his own SLR when he went to pick it up, thinking it's not his.

Now that's baller status. Still a likeable guy.

Sounds like he could have just gone for a test drive in each one and saved a lot of money.

why didn't they use sport mode?

yes it does have DRS but wing is still standing up and creating drag compared to sport mode where the wing retracts at higher speeds

It's even more beautiful with the rear spoiler retracted. Looks-wise my favourite of the “holy three” which only happened when I got to see all three side by side. A lithe, sinuous and sleek masterpiece of hypercar design. Absolutely spectacular in the flesh.

My friend owns one and I’ve been lucky to drive it, hard. It’s spectacular. Completely spectacular. It feels familiar to other Mclaren’s at first, but the sound and the way the performance is delivered with the hybrid system are unique. Definitely one of my dream cars.

How would you compare it to your 765LT in terms of performance and especially driving experience?

765 feels lighter, has better steering, it's more go-cart like. P1 has the unreal sound of the blowoff (way cooler sound), feels more immediate in the acceleration response (although ultimately I don't think there is really anything in a straight line between them), and probably feels more special. The 765 wing dances a lot more than the P1 wing does adjusting to driving conditions. The traction control of the 765 feels more advanced, how the car clings to the road and inspires confidence. The P1 requires more respect. It's scarier. It's a more immersive and full on experience overall. Like all Mclaren's though, driven slow, they're pussy cats. You just can't bury your foot whenever you feel like it.

As far as construction, the P1 is genuinely like an alien space ship. It bares little if anything in resemblance (both above and beneath the skin) to other Mclarens. The 765/Senna/720S are all very similar. Money no object, P1 all the way. But certainly driving them both you'd think the 765 is the greatest bargain currently on the market. I think the 765 should be trading hands for 900k-$1mm. If it wore a Ferrari badge it certainly would.
