I was 100% sure about it, don't worry
any mention about future full test and or compars?
cannot wait!Supertest in the next issue.
And I hope the Macca will attend in their upcoming 0-300-0 km/h comparo as well.![]()

jajaajajajajajajajaLooks like quite a few nice tests featuring MP4-12C coming soon. Supertest, Italian Quattroruote and Auto. Right, Mafalda ?
Are we then at last going to get a N-Ring laptime for the MP4-12C? The Sportauto laptime for the 458 Italia was 7.38 min, as fast as SLS AMG and LF-A. I think the best recorded laptime for the 458 Italia was 7:32 min by some independant. Will the MP4-12C beat the LF-A N-Ring Edition and 911 GT2 RS laptime? I still expect something under around 7:15 min. I wish it come out this way.
Sport Auto did (HvS), about the 458, a quite-bad 7.38, AutoBild (S. Bert) did 7.32.9 on 20.8 km and passenger
surely the MP4
the mp4'll smash easly 7.38 , I think I'd pay for a full comparo @ ?Ring Mp4 Vs 458 MY11 with S. Bert.![]()
about teh others (LF-A, GT2 RS etc) please don't compare magazine-laptimes Vs officials
It's expected that a brand new car built from the ground up would have problems, but it's incredible that they'd still be having issues with the door sensor/mechanisms. Some of the journalists during the group tests were frustrated about not being able to open the doors until after a few tries, and that was many months ago. Word on various forums was that they had delayed the release date to make sure they had the 458 covered (they didn't), but I think these quality control issues are more likely the real culprit.
Maff said:Its unfortunately a bit more than software issues. My car is currently back with McLaren with a tech from the factory looking at the numerous non-software issues, and my business partners car was collected today, along with the software faults that all cars have, his has gone back for all hardware related faults/failures and paint defects.
Whilst the car is superb to drive and be in as a driving experience, the customer satisfaction experience still leaves room for improvement, which to be fair McLaren are working on. However, with the issues our two cars have (numerous stupid software faults aside, two of which keep putting my car in limp mode) have I do sometimes wonder what their test engineers were doing for 5+ years.
Lambo FirstBlood said:It's being collected tomorrow. I did try to live with it for another week or two after I posted that I was going to sell it but the problems just got worse and more frequent. On Saturday, at different times, I was told by the computer I had 4 punctures, the airbags weren't working, the air brake wasn't working, the air brake then got stuck, and the car told me that the passenger seat belt was not fastened even though no passenger was in the car.
Provided they get rid of the car quickly and I'm not out of pocket, I am prepared to give Mclaren and the dealer another chance at a later date, but I get a very strong sense from the people I talk to there, that whilst they hope to have some fixes in the next 2-3 weeks, they are a LONG way from fixes for all of this stuff and the fact that production has now stopped highlights just how far away they are.
Macca needs time? ok, delaying the production...Well, it is not like Ferrari had zero problems. McLaren needs some time. I just hope it will go on well.
