So there you have until the Mclaren 750S can be specified to this level the Mclaren 765LT is the "7" class 🐐.πŸ™‚

As for this new 750s, it looks just as f'ing horrible as the 720s did. Truly dislike this car's looks with a passion, which is a shame because the car is so good for the rest. Still has those crazy frog eyes.
I was dubious upon seeing the first pics of the 720S and especially sceptical about those front light arrangements. When I saw it in person, I was much more convinced in a good way - it’s a dramatic and futuristic look which befits this kind of car. Once again, as with so many of these complicated modern styles, the design is best suited to darker colours. Black, dark greys, deep blues and reds are the way to go because the β€œweird bits” stand out less. And a 765LT is just next-level bonkers. Which waiting list would I rather be on though? Yip me too for a 296.

The issue I have with the 750S is how lazy of a facelift it turned out to be. It’s literally just a bit of plastic surgery (the so called mechanical enhancements are simply incremental and obligatory lifecycle improvements) and I’m not even sure that it looks any better.

But you could say the same thing about every 911 that's ever come out, except the 996, which most people hated anyway.

Same for Ferrari you could say too, I saw a 458- 488- F8 Tributo staggered shot from the front three quarters and immediately it seemed nip and tuck one generation to the next but it's not that simple.

For some reason people on car forums love to talk shit about Mclaren. "They have too many models, they all look the same, they're unreliable etc....." It's a stupid hive mentality.

The funny thing is 99.9 % of these people will never sit in a Mclaren, let alone drive and experience one. Ferrari and Lambo have made just as many models as Mclaren has over the last 12 years. There are a bunch of Lambos that look the same. Ferrari's design language is a mess. None of the other manufacturers use carbon tubs in their mainstream vehicles like Mclaren does. Lambos are decently reliable now that their owned by VW but Ferrari's have a ton of issues also, but they're customers are too scared to say anything online for fear of repercussions from the big prancing horse.

Mclaren have used the same basic engine for the past decade, but it's hard to blame them since they are one of the few independent car manufactures still around. Plus, they have recently added a new V6 and V10 to their repertoire.

Do they need to work on their quality control? Absolutely! With their new CEO saying all the right things that should hopefully solve that problem.

IMHO, Mclaren are making the best driver focused cars over the last decade. They prioritize light weight, steering feel and driver dynamics over everything else. I think for driver enthusiasts, which I'm assuming most people on car forums are, this philosophy should be celebrated, especially nowadays when every car is getting fatter and less engaging.

Don't get me wrong, I love Ferrari and Lambo also, they make fantastic cars. But Mclaren is the brand that ticks the box for what I'm looking for as a driving enthusiast. Oh, and they look stunning also.

And there's your answer. I'll never have one unless Ron Dennis gives me one! But everytime the name Mclaren is mentioned it's because it's occupying their mind space and the reasons are utterly irrelevent plus Woking get free advertising.

I spent ALOT of time last year with the owners. They couldn't careless! Neither do I!:)

Bargain, really.
Yupp. Double the price of an EX90 or SL63. Not bad.

I wonder if this car will tempt Ferrari to produce mid engine V8 cars again. Some manufacturers have only gone in the hybrid direction because of previous EU directive that sales of ICE cars will be banned in 2030.

However, in the past 12 months, that directive has changed for the better. There could be scope for supercar manufacturers to produce non-hybrid cars until they can make the jump to full EVs in the next couple of years. After all, the cons of electrifying an ICE supercar far outweigh the pros.

To be honest mate I'd rather have the Mclaren Artura. Sure it might not be as quick but the design and asethetics are a generations ahead! It's a stunning design. Is it beautiful? Well that's for people to decide themselves.

Also when Car Magazine did the twin track test with the Ferrari 296GTB it was the English car that was pulling the heartstrings not the Italian. Seen from multiple angles and in differing surroundings and natural light conditions.

(Like the black DBX I photographed, Jesus what a machine!)

Sure both those cars are quicker, slightly, but the views down a bumpy B road look a hell of alot better at 35MPH than 75MPH and Woking I know in time will deliver something very special even by their standards with the Spider and LT versions.

I'll concede perhaps I'm in the minority, but so what? Is what it is!πŸ™‚

The Artura is very pretty in green. Mclaren also did a great job minimising the weight impact of electrification.

Looking forward to head to head comparisons between the Artura and 750s.

Very big win for McLaren.
