720S [Official] McLaren 720S

The McLaren 720S is a sports car designed and manufactured by McLaren Automotive. It is the second all-new car in the McLaren Super Series, replacing the 650S beginning in May 2017. The 720S is built on a modified carbon monocoque, which is lighter and stiffer than the previous model, the 650S.
I remember those spypics and wondered "what the hell??!?!?"

Then with the initial press pics, I thought it was boring with some weird-looking headlights.

The more I looked at it, the more I noticed McLaren F1's influence.

Then I saw a video of Melville highlighting the clever design and aerodynamic features followed by seeing the car in motion, and I was a convert. It's one the most forward-looking designs I've seen in awhile. McLaren did a brilliant job.

You got any info on this one ? MSO car ? Or non-factory backed tuning ? Seems to be first 720S with louvres.

Found the information by accident : it is a Vorsteiner tuning.

Wth happened to the GT2 RS? Disappointing result.

I think the air is getting thinner for Porsche. IF competition has done their homework (which McL obviously has done) then it really gets hard for Porsche to fully compensate their layout disadvantage!
The traction advantage they have with rear mounted engine is not relevant compared with high downforce midengined semislick supercars of competition...
But balance and cooling, etc. is crippled... obviously P. drastically changes layout of 992.

I like how Mclaren is taking it's time with 720S. Not like previous versions, when they had every new model in couple of months separation.

The 675LT followed by a more powerful McLaren MSO HS was a bit of a disaster.

MSO projects don't have anything to do with the regular lineup, of which the LT is part. I'm betting MSO made more HS type one-offs than they or their customers care to publicize.

That's such a shame. I can see the (MP4)-12C and possibly the 650S depreciation trajectory to be relatively steep considering their generic looks and the 12C's initial issues. But the 720S looks genuinely exotic and has hypercar numbers. That ain't right.

I think 720S is safe for now including in the UK, especially from the 600LT. Senna on the other might have a little impact on it's price. But the car that will suffer most from this value wise is 675 LT. Now 675 LT prices have already tanked, but 600 LT will tank them even further as it is performance wise likely faster and better to drive.

I ran into Swizz Beatz and his 720s looked great. Anyone know the color? Looked similar to Lamborghini’s Viola Ophelia. Those Vossen wheels complimented the design nicely too.

Apologies for the terrible photo... didn’t want to look like Paparazzi

I don't think I'll ever get along with a McLaren design outside of the F1. Anyways looks like Amethyst Black, but given the lighting in your picture and filter in the insta post it could also be cobalt violet.
