The McLaren 720S is a sports car designed and manufactured by McLaren Automotive. It is the second all-new car in the McLaren Super Series, replacing the 650S beginning in May 2017. The 720S is built on a modified carbon monocoque, which is lighter and stiffer than the previous model, the 650S.

had for 2 years, sold a year ago. Just bought a second one this week. Was between 458, 488, 675LT and 720S. 675LT and 458 made shortlist. People with experience told me offline that Mclaren LT cars are put together with more care than non LT cars. Reason I left the 675LT alone (for now) is that it’s such a hardcore car that where I live I’d be wasting so much of the performance potential.
FYI I don’t buy cars sight unseen. I either fly in myself with a mechanic or have broker relationships around the country on the east/west coast I pay to go see cars and scrutinize. Covid did make that more difficult but the deals are great.

I was just watching an old episode of Top Gear and Clarkson said, “Alpha Romeo builds a car to be as good as can be, briefly”. Brilliant line. Analogous to this discussion. I’m not suggesting Mclaren reliability is near as bad as old Alphas but I’ll maintain the 720S is my dream car but I fear it would be a don’t buy your hero’s scenario like when people drive a Countach and hate it. If they keep dropping in price though I may buy and just deal with any issues. They’re now sub 200k!

Woah, 2s faster than ever the Trofeo R. Makes you realise just how damn fast the 720S really is for almost hanging with these cars using Corsas. If you stuck Cup 2 Rs on a 720S or Senna, the times would be ridiculous (or, in the case of the Senna, even more ridiculous
).

I believe Corsa is grippier than Super Sports and Trofe R is similar to Cup 2. Cup 2 R is on another level.
