LFA [Official] Lexus LF-A Supercar (Production Version)

F12 engine sounds like a big displacement engine with a heavy sound(quite similar to the 599 GTB HGTE) while LFA sounds more like a very short stroked F1 V10 high pitched shriek with a lot of layers so I agree sound wise, LFA sounds much more musical.

#272

If I had that money it is the first thing I'd get. Are they all sold out? If I had that money, I'd even pay double price to get #501.

Nice vid. I love the gear changes, they sound so much better than dual clutch. I still don't think the F12 sounds better than the LFA.

Yeah the LFA still the best sounding road legal out there..but i think the F12's engine is superior overall.:)

The AMG V12 engines Pagani uses are also to be higly respected. I don't know what mesures can we use to define a superiority of an engine.

If we are strictly talking aural quality, the LFA V10 is #1 in my book. The F12 V12 is does give it a run for its money, but the LFA' engine has more range and "character." The 599GTO seems a bit better though. The V12's in the Zonda are quite delectable, however, the V12 in Huayra leaves alot to be desired....too much turbo sucking and whining and no where enough revving. The Aventador is quite nice, but it lacks the menace of its predecessors....it doesn't strike as much fear.

In terms of performance, they are all quite stellar, but the F12's engine gives me an automotive chubby, but I'd still take the LFA. It's a bit more special to me.

(Yeah, you read that right)

I love this car even more now! It is so much a CAR... I cannot describe my feeling but what I mean is that I like cars and not houses on wheels or LCD screens on wheels and so on... I like CARS and there are not many left if you ask me :)

Yeah that AMG V12 is very special too..built specially for Hyuayra and has tons of tunning potential for the future special models.

The sound of the Hyuayra's engine was intentional as mention by Mr.Horacio himself in the story behind the car vid,he wanted the car to be sounded totally different from the Zonda like a jet.New chapter for Pagani cars.:)

I'l probably never be sold on the looks nor styling of the LFA, but the sound from that engine is a bone chilling sound and goose bumps comes standard. My goodness I can listen to that soundtrack all day long, I am pleasantly overwhelmed.

Idea! Maybe if there is such a member on GCF with the skill and tech that can compose a soundtrack from all the Supercar sounds, we can listen to. Quality 'music' for the connoisseur.:)

Oh, I gathered that from the documentary that was recently released about two weeks ago. And I have little doubt that Sr. Pagani was inspired by jets, the air brakes and airfoil-inspired design is definitely indicative of that. But, in cars, I much rather hear revs rise, peak and crescendo than hear turbos spooling up. Nothing like hearing a sonorous engine and all the little details to get the heart racing and swooning. But, I'm sure the Huayra experience is unique and wonderful in of itself. I may need to get a first-hand experience. ;) ***Adds another item on the bucketlist***

I get what you mean. It's not an appliance at all. And the fact it came from ToyoMoCo, a company notorious for churning out so many appliances, especially as of late, shows how far they went out of their own comfort zone to make this.

To me, the way they designed this car was a much more holistic approach than the vast majority of cars out there, with the exception of Pagani, Veyron, Carrera GT, etc. Everything, save for the navigation/telematics, was conceived, designed, crafted, built, and implemented solely for the LFA. And as things were done so much more holistically, the driving experience is so much very well-rounded.

So these two jokers released a video sometime ago when the accompanying EVO article was released when they drove around the Scottish highlands. That video was them trying to figre out the LFA launch control. Well here's the video of them actually driving about in the Highlands. It's a short little video of little over 2 minutes, but entirely worth it for the delicious cacophony these two machines create. I swear, there times, if you close your eyes, it sounds like a proper F1 race. Enjoy!

I know this is an LFA thread, so pardon my divergence a bit. But the 599, while stunning in GTO guise, looks a bit unncecessarily longer than it ought to be. It's even more obvious to me after the recent reveal of the brilliant F12 Berlinetta.

PS: I do wish this video was much longer. Also looks like they LFA a bit more. :D

Cool video. I think it was posted a while back when the comparo came out. Still a great video to watch again.

Best sound, nothing else to say. But that R8 V10 in dark grey also looks very nice.

There are rumors a Lexus GS-F is going to come with a detuned V10 from the LFA. I hardy believe this. The engine is really not good for a heavy sports sedan. But I would still love this engine to be built in other forms or even upgraded for an LFA Mk2.

If Toyota and Lexus would only put this much into something more affordable, say under 100K.

Anyone following E Kanoo over the years would know well that he is in Bahrain and has many tuned cars (tuned by Titan motorsports). He has many other videos online of his 1/4 mile runs

This is his new Lexus LFA Nurburgring edition:

The LFA should be chepear, it can't compete with the F12 or SLS.

The essence of the LFA has been discussed in great lengths in this forum, I don't think we have anything more to add to what we have already said.

LOL. Ferrari can only dream of Lexus reliablity. Even Porsche is so much better built. The LFA is only built to 500 units. Well, as said, we already had this discussion, if one can't get, pity for him.

I guess you're right, probably end production in December. Levi, do you own a Ferrari and a Porsche?

It's very odd but mass produced cars are generally more reliable than handbuilt ones, now I'm not necessarily suggesting that the LFA will be unreliable only that it mightn't be as good as the rest of the range that's all.
