LFA [Official] Lexus LF-A Supercar (Production Version)

You might want to take your eyes of off the bare naked 2013 ES 250 which recently spotted landed safe and sound in China because we are about to bring you another hottest model from Lexus lineup. We are talking about the white Lexus LFA supercar with devilish engine and mean power under the hood. the luxury division of Toyota knows that their expensive and limited edition of LFA needs to get under the spotlight again, so they decided to release a video where the supercar was driven by former F1 driver and double Le Mans champion.

Can you guess who the driver is? It is kind of foolish we question this because you already know from the title of our post, right? Yup… Alex Wurz got the chance to tame the wild Lexus LFA at the Autodromo de Estoril in Portugal. Some of you may recall this circuit where 2006 MotoGP World Champion Nickyu Hayden almost lost his title because took over by his teammate – Daniel Pedrosa. So, Herr Wurz, what did you think?

According to autoevolution.com, the fine engineering from V10 machinery under the hood of the white LFA supercar successfully made Alex Wurz smiled all the way as he took the advantage of the power and torque. Oh, and you might want to hit the reply button as the sound of this Japanese supercar is worth to add on some action car movies. All hail Lexus LFA!!!!

I want, I want, I want. But I can't. :(

I like the small detail which is important for me in a sportscar, the key ingnition to start the engine and not just a start/stop button.

Did not get to see the episode, but Top Gear USA had The Stig do a powerlap in Lexus LFA and this is what the powerlap board now looks like. Top Gear UK never ran a much deserved proper dry lap on the LFA, but Top Gear USA did come through on this:

Top Gear Power Lap Times (El Torro Raceway):

1:19.5 - Tanner's Ford Fiesta Rallycross
1:22.0 - Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR

This remains an extremely desirable car, but I look forward to the production LF-LC with similar styling at about 1/4 of the price of this beast. The car does however wear any and every color available, really well.

That is a good time, but some rivals are not listed like the 911 GT3 RS, 911 GT2 RS, 599 GTO and GT-R.

Gimme the car & keep the blonde! That sound is way more tempting to my ears than that girl to my eyes.

Those 911 are really fast. But the LFA seemed to go around the corners faster.

The Gazoo LFA makes only 470 - 475 HP in the racing trim due to SP8 class restrictions while weighing near-stock 3350 lbs and revs up to only 7500 rpm due to air restrictors limiting power/torque at higher rpms.

That explains everything.

Things we did not know about the LFA:
The trunk compartment is separated by a glass just like in mid-rear engined sportscars (458 Italia, MP4-12C,...). The trunk is very tiny and only has a soft covering for discrecy. The door handles are situated on the top of the doors are and doo not pear out just like the Aston Martin door handles but in a different way but stay mecanical unlike The McLaren that has door sensors.

What distinguishes the LFA Tokyo Edition from the normal LFA is just the unpainted CF roof and retractable rear wing.

Bonus:

Jay Leno is the man.

It always is great to see a review by someone who knows cars so well that he can identify qualities very quickly. Especially, how he hit the nail right on the head regarding why supercars are needed? Certainly, he was spot on calling it "the greatest supercar from Japan". :eusa_clap

I thought he's be one of the LFA detractors, but, lo and behold, he gets it. I don't find him funny but I like the fact he's a car guy.

#272

If I had that money it is the first thing I'd get. Are they all sold out? If I had that money, I'd even pay double price to get #501.

Nice vid. I love the gear changes, they sound so much better than dual clutch. I still don't think the F12 sounds better than the LFA.
