LFA [Official] Lexus LF-A Supercar (Production Version)

It is being driven by Akira Iida (the same driver who did 7:14 in the LFA) so this might be a Lexus prototype (rather than a privately owned LFA that had aftermarket modding to become a spyder).

After Naruse-san's tragic demise, did Iida-san take over his duties?

Akira Iida has been instrumental in the development and racing campaign of the LFA since the beginning. However, you are right Naruse's expertise in tuning the car was biggest contribution. After his death, Akira Iida seems to be now leading Gazoo LFA racing team.

Yesterday I took LF-A for a spin around N-ring in Forza 4. Marvelous engine sound and the car felt very well-balanced both in straigtline and around the corners.

Have all the 500 LFAs been sold?

LOL@putting deposit.down

Anyway, from what I know Lexus never put a minimum for LFA Nurburgring edition, but maximum possible were 50, if the demand warranted that. The great part is that Lexus received orders for 50 LFA NE so they are all sold out.

Regarding standard LFA, there were a few LFA that were bought by dealerships in US. Some of them are for sale. Others were retained by the dealership owners for personal use and display. From what I know 98% of the available for ordering had been sold. There are only a few standard LFA available for ordering.

P.S. The wrecked LFA was crashed by a sales person, but the damage was relatively minor and even that has been sold to someone.

Look at all those LFA's :icondrool

Can I just have one? Please?????:eusa_pray

^^^

Looks a lot like the E46 Laguna Seca Blue.

Custom colors were supposed to get built near the end of the LFA life cycle so they have now begun building custom colors. There might be some very interesting colors that will come out (I read a pink one is also on order by someone in Florida).

LOL, I think I don't even have enough for a deposit. I think the deposit was about 70.000 €. Now if I had that money I'd at least get the new 981.

Used LFAs also won't get their prices lower, maybe on the contrary even higher, just like the Alfa 8C, Porsche Carrera GT. The cheapest Carrera GT you can find has 60.000 km and costs 235.000 €.

It really has to do with the driver. It is for this reason I am more interested in factory laptimes than in magazines laptimes. What I want to know are the limits of the car, not the limits of the driver, and those that developed the car can reach higher limits than those that had a ride for a few minutes.

That is true. Some cars are easier to understand where their limits are than other especially the one's with electronic aids etc. requiring less time for confidence building in exploiting the limits. To be honest, the only car Horst Von Saurma can do proper justice to is Porsche 911 cars. That is ofcourse because he is a Porsche test driver who races 911 GT3 Cup cars in the Nurburgring 24-hour endurance races.

I also am glad Lexus did release the official lap time video first otherwise, I could see the naysayers making fun of Lexus for building an "overpriced and underperforming" car.

Without the official 7:14 video, it would have been Lexus' fault no matter what even if Horst Von Saurma could managed to get only a 7:55 out of the LFA.
