No matter what new car has come out in the last two years (F12, Huayra, LP-700), I still come back to the LFA. I absolutely love it! It's one of those cars you want to touch so you can understand every crease and curves' purpose. The interior goes down as one of the all-time greats...beautifully and meticulously crafted; functional without being garish. The engine is otherworldly and the dynamics are world-class.

So if I were to craft my own LFA, I'd use the above LFA-N as my template. I would get a standard LFA and paint it dark metallic gray and have the carbon fiber weave exposed on the roof, A and C-pillars, and retractable spoiler. I would get the LFA-N wheels and have the LFA-N CF front splitter.

PS: I would love to put an exposed LFA without any of the body panels so I can appreciate it the innards. I would gladly place it in the middle of my living room. :)

IM about the format of the show with the Video OP who was present in the audience. He also mentioned Jeremy Clarkson said if he were to pick one car to take home with him, it would be the Lexus LFA

Oh yes, no doubt my pic would be the LFA. Though ther is a bunch of legendary and epic cars, for me the LFA is on top. LFA design is so perfectly beautifully typically Japanese. I think Lexus must to the same thing for the LFA as Pagani did to the Zonda, just continue improving it and updating it, while adding price and lowering units. Desing can stay the same, for me, just like the Zonda (NSX and S2000 also), is look timeless.
For the "avarge"? Just make a new SC-F with an LFA-like NA H/R V8.

I think the richness of the irony lies in the fact that there could be no better example than this where LFA has turned even the most staunch skeptic into a fierce believer in itself.

Clarkson confessed he wanted to disregard the LFA. 2 years ago, he refused to review the LFA and claimed to be hiding under his desk so that they ask Hammond instead.

2 years after that, he drove the LFA in Scotland moors and he became the most passionate believer in this car probably more so than even Chris Harris, which really shows in his quotes:

"Yorkshire was invented for the LFA. It is a car that reminds you everytime you drive it why we have corners in Britain"

"so brilliant is the suspension, that it never bottoms out and always inspires confidence"

"there is always a sense that you are in a full-on racer"

" The noise beggars belief. This is not a car that shouts, growls or barks. It howls. Up there, on the moors, it sounded otherworldly. Like a werewolf that puts its foot in a gin tap."

"Unlike Ferrari that fits button everywhere it can find some space, Lexus has thought through everything beautifully in this car."

When somebody says the LFA has no soul I'd like to smack him in the face. It is on the contrary one of the recent car produced, that has most soul than any other, enven more than Ferrari and Porsche. And this is how I personally would classify them in order:
1. Lexus LFA
2. Pagani (simply art)
3. Aston Martin (the name and the design says it)
(Alfa Romeo (can't justify that because they have nothing worthy, but the 8C, not the best case even proves what it can be)
4. Maserati (the design and the sound says it)
5. Porsche (though spoilt, the race heritage is still very strong)
6. Ferrari (just no more as before, though heritage it is now too bling-bling)
7. McLaren (clinical, could be considered as a soul character)
8. Lamborghini (there is nothing more bling-bling than a "Lambo")

The simple fact that the Lexus LFA, a brand without name or heritage, got so many lovers proves there is a soul. Moreso, even if on paper and even in reality it is not the fastest car in any type of measure (race-track, drag-strip), there is even less reason to love it so much, yet for many it is "the" ultimate sportscar/dream car. When even a hater (Jeremy Clarkson) end picking up that car over any other much "better" one, then that really means a lot: the car is alive, it has soul, and as we know, one soul (LFA) attracts an other soul (human being). So if one says the LFA has no soul, it means he himslef has no soul.
By rationality, the LFA is not a car one would pick. But if one picks it, that is because of the emotion that comes from the soul, and only some other soul can bring up emotion. So again the LFA is a car with the most soul. If sombody says that those who like the LFA are mad/stupid, I'd again smack him in the face.

I think it is pretty much unanimous verdict from all of the people who actually drove the car that it oozes passion and soul from all corners as much as possible.

The only people who say LFA is "not this or that" are the typical keyboard warriors on the internet who want to put down a car while sitting behind their keyboard simply because of their negative biases and connotations. Many of them are saying it because typically that is what Japanese cars are normally associated with.

They simply are applying the same stereotypes to LFA because they really want to believe it is no different than any other Japanese car.

The LFA has no soul

:troll:

Found something interesting. Looks like there is still more to come for the LFA.

http://lexusenthusiast.com/2012/11/...race-car-for-next-years-nurburgring-24h-race/

Late last week, Lexus race car driver Akira Iida — the same driver that set the Nürburgring lap record for a production car in an LFA last year — tweeted the above photo of a mystery LFA prototype, describing it as his “next challenge”.

From the image, it looks to be the infamous LFA GTE prototype, which was first spotted last year in spy photos taken at the Toyota Motorsport headquarters in Germany:

More race-car? Or just an even more street version hard-core version? Or even only track car like Ferrari FXX? LFA is hunting for Zonda R.

I think this is a more hardcore GT2 racing car for the LFA. Lexus has confirmed they will not be taking part in the Nurburgring 24-hour race in 2013 so it could be possible that this LFA and the hybrid (which already is) will be taking part in Le Mans.

Yesterday, the guys from Top Gear descended on Las Vegas in a haze of burnt rubber, cigarettes, and lengthy, complicated metaphors.
But where, oh where, could they be going and what exactly are they driving? We have some of the answers.
Jeremy posted a picture on Twitter earlier that revealed the guys are driving some seriously cool cars.
It appears that James is in an Aston Martin Vanquish, Jeremy is in the Lexus LFA, and Richard, muscle car lover that he is, will be in a brand new Dodge Viper.
Rumor has it that this will be a 3,000 mile journey and Jeremy has made mention of both Southern California and Mexico in the last few weeks.
