F-Type [Official] Jaguar F-Type

The Jaguar F-Type (X152) is a series of two-door, two-seater sports cars manufactured by British car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover under their Jaguar Cars marque from 2013 to 2024. The car's JLR D6a platform is based on a shortened version of the XK's platform. It is the so-called "spiritual successor" to the E-Type.
Recently I was present when a Ford C-Max turned into a fireball, actually being the person who noticed it first and flagged the driver down. It's remarkable just how quickly things get out of control, with two minutes of helping her get her two children out of the car you couldn't have gotten close and within five minutes it was engulfed in flames having already blown the two front tyres.

Scary business.

It sure is! Even "normal" cars, like the Ford in your exemple, are burning rather spontane.

C'mon rurella, you continue to personalise any disagreement with what I say and then vilify me. Once again, you only choose aspects of my posts prior to handing down judgement. Next time I urge you to unpack my words more thoroughly. Did I not say minus points for stereotyping?

I look at the quality of the discussion as a whole, the level of interest and information imparted and the ensuing counter arguments. Example: look at Mentir's fine response that challenges the claims presented supposedly as fact. Controversial opinion stirs up the debate.

Now, I don't necessarily condone such a patent distaste for the British car industry nor such vociferous criticism of the supposed hack shills who allegedly aid and abet the whole marketing process but along with many other members I am able to extract and process what I deem to be meaningful, factual and informative. And, to look forward to those responses that are actually meritorious in the context of a discussion about cars, like Mentir's.

C'mon martinbo. What you are doing is called being cute by half. My point was that it is not acceptable to turn your head to ridiculous assertions and language because part, even if it is the majority, of his posts contain interesting and fact based content (your view). The minus point for stereotyping is not enough of a rebuke, especially from someone who carries a moderator tag. The term "Kraut" is offensive and you know it. And it has no place in this forum. K not only used the term but implied that that's how others (American's) view the Germans due to their superior automotive engineering prowess. Expressing my concerns and challenging your conclusions is far from vilifying you. You seem to have far more tolerance as a moderator in situations that seem to intrigue you. I urge you to re-read some of K's numerous posts that contain inappropriate langauge and to not be so sensitive when someone takes you to task based on a strong belief that you are missing a very important point.

I like being cute by half, in reality I'm probably cute by 5/8ths or even 3/4. :)

I took exception to your comment that "Your tolerance and logic for same is really sad..." Sad??? I didn't think it's sad - I have much bigger things to worry about in real life that are truly sad. But anyhow, I'm over being sensitive now.
I'm sorry that I am more tolerant of forum misdemeanors in situations that intrigue me - it's true - I guess I'm just a sucker for a good old fashioned ding dong debate. That being said, I simply can't view my involvement here as sad.

That said, I agree, the term "Kraut" whilst not in anyway being used in the defamatory (let's just put it down to creative writing as he's actually being complimentary of them) could be construed in the wrong way and is thus unacceptable.

@Kilcrohane, please refrain from using colloquialism that can potentially be viewed as racist or xenophobic.

C'mon guys! The whole world is dumb!
Some of us just think we are smart... but it ain't that way!
I for example love manual, RWD cars... yet reading magazines made me believe that the AWD, AT R8 is the best choice for me.
We are all brainwashed!

I've been away for a week so missed this. Probably for the best.

I think people are finally learning to take Kilcrohane's post with a HUGE pinch of salt. A lot of what he posts is more biased than the British car mags he criticises. For example, he fails to point out that the "biased, propaganda-pushing" BBC broadcast a documentary immediately after Top Gear about how fantastic the German car industry is, and more specifically how the wrong the British car industry got it. JC was quite vocal about it and criticised the scheduling.

As a Brit (living in Holland for the last 13 years) I know that the British are VERY uncomfortable about appearing to be self-aggrandising, so it was nice to see a program that wasn't self-depreciating for once and celebrated what we do well. Maybe it was down to the successful London Olympics last year? The fact that eight out of the eleven Formula One teams are based in the UK with seven visible from one hill makes me very proud. But of course, one hour is enough and the BBC obviously came to its senses and broadcast the very critical documentary straight afterwards. To be successful is bad enough. To be seen to be proud of it is almost unforgivable.

As for the F-Type catching fire. Yeah, a car caught fire just like every other manufacturer has cars which have occasionally caught fire. Ferrari. Audi. Others. This is a non-story.

However bad the F-Type might be, it is the best looking front engine two seater since long time ago. Let the Germans build it, but let them not touch a single line.

Saw my first one today!!!! How the fork the F Type is already in my country is something I still don't get it (altough we normally get premiers before larger markets like Brazil and Argentina)

I just could see it from the back and 3/4 rears, as I couldn't pass it because of traffic, but really I was a bit disappointed by the rear looks.....

I'd have a used XKR convertible. If you want handling supremacy you'd buy a Boxster, so if a true gran-tourer is what you want the XK is a better choice. Not to mention the fact that it it one of, if not the most beautiful cars currently on sale.

It's such a Pussycat Doll magnet. If only less people would loathe it for being a bit porky and too wide.

The F-Type V8S is amazing to drive. I was impressed. The sound is fantastic. While in videos I prefered V6S and thought the V8S is too much, in person I strongly prefered V8S.

Handling is great as well. Thanks to layout of the powertrain you can nicely play with the back of the car. Despite being quite a 458-fan, I have to say I liked F-Type V8S even more, especially considering the price as 458 Italia is twice as much.

I am looking forward to the coupe, that is the car to get.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas...It's going to look lovely. The photos are making the white almost look like porcelain. Good job.
