You guys seen the list pricing versus the RX, GLE, and X5? They’ve priced it out of true contention.

I've seen that it tops out around $65k for a fully loaded AWD 3.5L V6 TT model, a price you would surpass if you sneeze in the general direction of the option sheet on a X5 xdrive40i.

I guess I misinterpreted the article. So the V6 TT is fully loaded at $65k then? That would mean lots of value for the money.

It looks really classy this thing. I must say it probably is the best looking Korean car on the market. A bit Bentley and Volvo rolled in one, but its maybe more attractive than both. If it drives well and is a grea

Interior looks great in these pics. The quilted leather looks expensive and probably feels nice to the touch.

Unless the front, which is very well resolved, original and imposing, the rest sins of lack of identity, it is quite generic, it does not have that particular charm that differentiated the first Lexus (brand to which they emulate as a business formula in general).

The back now that you mention it is quite Bentley, and the interior is nice but it still seems boring, maybe in person I change my mind

Yep. Fully loaded at "around $65k" was the word I got from a Genesis spokeswoman. I'm not particularly surprised given the pricing of the other Genesis models.

Of all the stories I've read that retell the LS400 launch in the most rose colored way, I don't remember people commenting on particularly distinctive styling inside or out. The LS400's trump card was the level of refinement and quality offered for the price.

I particularly remember the photo of the wooden pieces of the interior next to the craftsman's tools giving the idea that they spent days doing them by hand, it was great

I definitely argue that they had much more charisma and called attention by personality and style, not only for the segments they attacked (the highest), where there were only two Germans and Jaguar, (I think that even Audi was not with the A8), unlike this that enters in a world with millions of SUV's

Of course, the pricing strategy was key, Lexus opted to lose money in each car (said by them), as long as it enters the market and makes itself known and appreciated, which should also be the case with Genesis and this SUV, Huyndai can lose some money to enter

..."where there were only two Germans andJaguar, (I think that even Audi was not with the A8)"...

Audi offered the C3-based Audi V8 back then. Vastly underrated and a great car in its' own right. I enjoyed the pleasure and privilege of being afforded some behind-the-wheel time in a few of these (original 3.6 as well as 4.2 versions) way back in the day. Loved it.

Exact and how beautiful car was and is, totally current despite the passing of the years and those BBS fit that model like a sunset at the beach

This car has a very impressive interior and it seems well priced as well starting from $50K to $65K fully specced in the US. I think its going to launch Genesis as a brand to be looked at in this segment.

Well, I was wrong. Pricing came in a bit higher than expected but still significantly undercuts rivals. In the U.S., the GV80 starts at $49,925 and tops out at $71,975. From Autoblog:

Both versions of the GV80 are offered in three trim levels: Standard, Advanced, and Prestige. The GV80 2.5T Standard starts at $49,925 ($1,025 destination included here and in all subsequent prices). The Standard's list of standard kit includes a 14.5-inch touchscreen, heated seats, a power liftgate, LED exterior lighting, 12-way power seats, a power-adjustable steering column, forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection and automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, and Hyundai's Highway Driving Assist semi-autonomous self-steering feature. AWD adds $5,750 — a big ask, but it also brings a panoramic sunroof, a heated steering wheel, digital key functionality, ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger, and more.

The GV80 2.5T Advanced is $53,825. The Advanced trim adds the Standard's AWD package items (sans AWD itself) along with a 21-speaker Lexicon audio system. For the Advanced model, all-wheel drive costs $6,200, and again it is packaged with other equipment, including leather, a blind-spot camera monitor, a 360-degree-view monitor, remote automated parking, and 20-inch wheels.

The GV80 2.5T Prestige starts at $58,075. The Prestige nets the extra kit from the Advanced AWD package as well as heated rear seats. The spend to get AWD on a Prestige model is $6,350, and the extras thrown in here include an adaptive suspension, 22-inch wheels, a head-up display, and active noise cancellation.

All GV80 3.5T models include all-wheel drive. The 3.5T Standard is $60,175. Equipment here mirrors that of the 2.5T Standard with AWD except that the V6 version gets larger front brakes, the adaptive suspension, and 20-inch wheels.

The 3.5T Advanced opens at $65,375. Beyond the 2.5T Advanced with AWD, the 3.5T also gets a head-up display, heated rear seats, the Active Motion front seats, and rear-seat climate controls. An Advanced+ variant adds a third-row seat for $700.

At the top of the lineup sits the 3.5T Prestige for $71,975. Beyond all the features that come with the 2.5T Prestige with AWD, the 3.5 T Prestige exclusive items include Nappa leather seating, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, power-closing doors, power-adjustable and ventilated rear seats, and an electronic limited-slip rear differential.

Pretty impressed with this car, Hyundai and Genesis have come a long way indeed. The styling inside and out looks good and the car has some impressive tech. Touch proximity controls for the seats and fold down seat function on the infotainment as well as remote parking and 360deg cam ala Audi, BMW and Mercedes.

I was fortunate to view this car with my wife at the Toronto Auto show. They had a loaded model and one just under it. I think it is a tremendous effort, however I do not think the German fans will give up their X5 or Q7 and GLS models. The interior was very nice, but so is everything else. I am bit surprised at the price point given
