Fiat Automobiles S.p.A.; originally FIAT, (Italian: Fabbrica Italiana Automobili di Torino; lit. It's a shame Volkswagen couldn't replicate the success with the Beetle.

Too big. However if they were dedicated. The Beetles time could be now as an I.D.Bug.
It's the same with MINI. They are going smaller with a post-Rocketman whilst the current MINI is decided on.

That video release is much better than what I saw of the Mini SE, that man does not know who he is but he did very well, this new Fiat is very seriously armed as a product

will it only be EV? that is to see and study its results .......

What has happened with the alliance with Great Wall ?
Everything is concrete and they are in the pre-stage, to start up the factory to produce the Mini EV, (I understand that it is the Rocketman type), the info is very scarce, nobody knows anything well

This is a fantastic and likable small car with alot of appeal. It has so many different options that can customize it.

Decent powertrain and range, 118PS, 0-100kmh in 9sec, top speed 150kmh, 320km range but about 30000Euro price.

This and the Honda E are probably my favorite electric cars at the moment. Very stylish and chick.

I agree the beetle maybe has a chance to come back in this way
It’s a fantastic evolutionary update.
MINI take note.
I wonder if this spells the end for 500X and the MPV?
I agree it is an excellent update to the point that it does not seem the same and it is.
Risky strategy that comes only EV, will not lose thousands and thousands of clients eliminating the ICE?
Mini as you say should take note, announcement that it will delay the new MINI for Brexit, Coronavirus and a lot of cheap excuses, they could think of an LCI like this in the meantime.
What is known about the Rocketman? Will it be like the Rocketman? is what they are doing with GEELY? when will us see something? If so, it will directly kill the 500

I don't think they will change anything for now with successful models like the 500X and the MPV, which follow the established in the industry

The Mini just doesnt appeal to me anymore unless they improve the latest versions ugly front bumper design. Its getting too big, they should follow the path like Fiat has done and keep it small and cute in the spirit of the original model.

2020 marks the start of a new era for the legendary Fiat 500, which in future will only be powered by electricity.

The new generation of the model has lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 42 kWh. They enable a range of up to 320 kilometers, measured according to the new WLTP standard. To optimize the charging time, the electric car is equipped with a quick charging system that enables a charging current of up to 85 kW. After five minutes, the batteries are sufficiently charged to drive around 50 kilometers.

So far, Fiat has been silent with market data, but experts expect the Elektro-500 to go on sale this summer and cost around 30,000 euros.

30k for a Fiat 500, seems a bit steep.

The best selling cars in the UK, and the starting price:
Ford Fiesta (£15,745)
Ford Focus (£20,165)
VW Golf (£24,755)
Vauxhall Corsa (£14,865)
Nissan Qashqai (£19,970)
A-Class (£22,745)
Vauxhall Grandland X (£22,900)
VW Polo (£14,550)
BMW 3-Series (£29,840)
Kia Sportage (£19,490)

The EV market needs more cars in the £15-25k range, that aren't worse than the ICE powered ones, if the market's going to shift by the time the government wants it to. The top 10, YTD represents 25% of the new car market here, so even if ALL the cars listed above had an EV counterpart, similarly priced, with no compromises, and 100% of those buyers switched to Electric, it'd still only be 1 in 4 cars.

At 30K, this car will look pretty collecting dust in dealership showrooms.
