var digg_url = 'http://www.digg.com/design/Ferrari_reveals_F430_Scuderia_not_Challenge_Stradale'; Unfortunately for Noah or Frank, Ferrari has gone and revealed the new F430 Scuderia when neither are around, so it's up to me to convey how fantabulous this new Prancing Horse is to you. We've been following for some time what we thought would be called the new F430 Challenge Stradale, but Ferrari has instead decided to name it the F430 Scuderia. Regardless of what it's called, this new F430 joins the coupe and spyder, yet takes a decidedly harder, more track-oriented edge than its siblings. The car weighs around 100kg (220 lbs.) less than the standard F430 coupe, and its version of Ferrari's 4.3L V8 produces 510 horsepower instead of 483. That gives the Scuderia a frighteningly low power-to-weight ratio of 1 horsepower for every 5.4 lbs.

The new F430 Scuderia also promises to carry a lot of trickle-down F1 technology as well, including lightning-quick 60 millisecond shifts and an integrated traction and stability control system. In order to accentuate the car's F1 connection, none other than famed F1 driver Michael Schumacher will officially unveil the car in Frankfurt this September. Until then, we have a gallery of high-res shots for you to flip through below and Ferrari's press release after the jump.

PRESS RELEASE:

The Ferrari 430 Scuderia. Michael Schumacher will officially unveil the car at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The new Ferrari 430 Scuderia will join the road-going V8 line-up alongside the F430 coupé and the F430 Spider. The 430 Scuderia is a truly high-performance 2-seater berlinetta which demonstrates how Ferrari's Formula 1 know-how is carried across to its production cars.

The new model is a special series based on the F430 and is aimed specifically at Ferrari's most passionate and sports-driving oriented clients. Development focused on light weight, minimum trimmings and innovative technology. All this to exalt the car's extremely high-performance and ability to thrill the driver.

The new car can count on an extremely low weight-to-power ratio of just 2.45 kg per hp thanks to a low dry weight of just 1250 kg - 100 kg less than the standard F430 – and to the naturally-aspirated 4308cc V8's 510 hp at 8500 rpm.

Superb performance both on and off the track is assured by a series of cutting-edge solutions. There is the latest F1 software - Superfast – which reduces gearchange times to just 60 milliseconds, and new traction control which, for the first time, combines the E-Diff electronic differential and the F1-Trac traction and stability control in a single integrated system.

Vehicle dynamics, control and performance thus represent the zenith of Ferrari's achievements in terms of developing road-certified sports cars.

The 430 Scuderia will be officially unveiled by Michael Schumacher on September 11 2007 at the IAA Motor Show in Frankfurt.

Arghh..just a few mintues before me. :eusa_doh: :D

As for the vehicle - Blah! Looks absolutely awful in my opinion. I didn't like the regular F430 design to begin with and all of these addtional (and ostentatious) body parts make me dislike the car even more.

Harsh enough? :D

510 from a V8 NA?

We'll see, but somehow i think this one could eliminate AMG and M V8s...;)

:eusa_clap to everything except the looks, but still 599 GTB Fiorano for me, please! Thank you!

:t-cheers:

I'm sort of with you Bruce.

Sure, I used to hate the F430's looks, but I've slightly forgiven it, but not the rear, and this rear is even worse. It will perform though, that's for sure.

So is this the "new" stradale?

The power from a an engine with that displacement is impressive but I'm not keen on the golden rims and the gray racing stripes.

I just LOVE IT, God what a car. I like every bit of it. I might even choose it over a GT3.

^me to..hihi im so glad someone besides me like it:D

PS
a new pic.. ohh and have you seen the black seats with the red horse..
thats just so EVIL:D

Haha, the irony of someone with a CLK BS in their avatar complaining about ostentatious body parts :D - at least the diffuser looks functional - being so low to the ground.

As for the scuderia, I love it, except for the ugly stripes. Can't wait for the GT2 vs Scuderia vs Superleggara comparison - would be literally sex on wheels.

There's no irony in that. I don't care whether the body parts are functional or not, in fact, that's of little concern to me. I'm talking about the styling of additional body parts, not their purpose or function. Furthermore, I like additional body parts (functional or not) which I feel improve the look of the car, rather than lessen it's appeal (which is what I feel they've done).

Of course, that's just my opinion and you're going to have to get used to it. :D

Can't deny it'll be a great performance car though...

i love it!!, except for the wheels i dont like em at all but you just need to change them for some other rhims

1: ferrari f430 scuderia

2: porsche gt2 (in my opinion) not the gt3 rs

3: lambo superleggera

:usa7uh:

I'm confused...so this is not a CS. well then, is the CS gonna come eventually?

Either way...I love the F430, way more than any of it's competitors.

Oh my.......I think that car looks absolutely AMAZING......I've always liked the F430 over the Gallardo or 911 in terms of looks, and this F430 Scuderia is just mean looking, which is what I would get if I had the money to buy a Ferrari. Of course, the technology in this car is nuts......60 ms shifts!!!

LOVE IT!!!!

This is an very aggressive looking car, the new front end styling looks even more similar to the Enzo than before. I can see Ferrari has done some detail aero development on the F430 Scuderia to further reduce drag and increase the downforce of the car without using some ugly rear wing, such as the optional item on the Lamborghini Gallardo SL.

The rear diffuser design looks interesting, there is a vent on each side of the diffuser, just above the vertical fins. I haven't seen this design in other supercars before.

The stripes and the colour of the rim doesn't suit the car. White stripes will be much better and it will remind people of the F1 car (even though the F2007 is largely red). The gold wheels reminds me of the WRX, which is bad, but it also reminds me of the Lancia Stratos, which is good.

it really looks agressive, but those stripes..i wonder if they come in just one colour.
I am sure those stripes come in different colours, if people have $ Ferrari will pretty much customise the car to your exact choice.

excellent analysis.

Looks the part, but not a fan of the Gold mags or stripping!! Would look killer in Plain Ferrari Red with Black accent's or Just Plain balck all around ...

I'm not really a fan of the F430 however, I would so much like to see a comparison test between the 911 GT2, F430 Scuderia and Galardo Superleggera! THE BATTLE OF THE CENTURY!!!:D
:t-cheers:
