Portofino [Official] Ferrari Portofino - California T successor

The Ferrari Portofino (Type F164) is a grand touring sports car manufactured by Ferrari. Predecessor: Ferrari California T. Successor: Ferrari Roma. Production: 2017-2023.
Interesting they've kept the hard-top!

Perhaps it's not too late for the next SL to keep it too?

Keeping the hardtop is the only big mistake I see.

Very much hope the next SL does away with this complete gimmick. It's overdue.

Certainly one of the most attractive "collapsible" hardtop solutions. And the first Ferrari that I don't perceive as being "vulgar" in quite some time.

Very impressive from what I can see at this point.

Whoever says folding hardtop hinders design, must be tied in a chair facing this car while having their balls smacked S.p.e.c.t.r.e style.

Ferrari has mastered folding hardtop.

Why cant Merc and BMW do the same ??

Not going to comment on MB, but what's better about this roof compared to the one on the Z4?
And don't start about the 4er cabrio please, that's a different car with a much bigger roof.

And the hardtop hinders the design as well as the weight. It hinders the design in the sense that they had to put ungainly shutlines on the boot. Wouldn't have been the case with a softtop.

Simply put, a 2 piece folding hardtop is easy to make look good, and a 3 piece one like on the 4er is damn near impossible to make look good.

Best front end of the line up. After the crime they commited with the F12 facelift, this is a possitive change.

That's not just Ferrari. Whole ex-Fiat Group has similar way of development. Very fast and you see definite body only from pre-production which usually starts 6 months before production.
The cars from the ex-Fiat group don't exactly represent the best of quality and engineering.

Massive improvement on the California, which despite it's daily-driver credentials, was never as aesthetically as desirable as the other Ferrari. With the roof up the Portofino has a profile that's a lot closer to the Superfast.

Extra kudos for giving it a V8 instead of a V6.

Totally agree. Marchionne recently mentioned in an interview that he "needed to do something with the California." This is an indeed a big improvement.

I may be the only one, but that front doesn`t scream Ferrari to me nor does it look good compared to the T. Otherwise it looks good, the interior in my opinion is where the best improvement is at.

I suspect this car will look stunning out in the open. I wish Ferrari will stop using these heavily edited press release photos.

I'm just waiting for the day Ferrari stops with the CGI overkill press photos... Just go back to days of realism

Definitely a big improvement. Mark Webber said it best about the first gen:

I was warming up to the Cali T, now this shows up out of nowhere. Love how Ferrari just pops a new car without any teasers (looking at you German car makers).
Still don't know what to think of it.

Is it the new trend to show the shittiest possible ulta cgied press photos for a reveal ? Anyway, great redesign.
