The F8 is the tributo to naturally aspirated and non-hybrid V8 lineup, which will be discontinued as it will be replaced by turbo'ed V6 lineup.

The V8 lineup has always had a new generation platform every decade, with each platform lasts for two models, first model and its modificata.

F348 and F355
F360 and F430
F458 and F488

But as things are not ready yet to launch the new lineup, the F8 will be sold for just the few years until the new turbo'ed V6 mid-engined model is ready.

The new turbo V6 will also be available for the Portofino.

Aside from the new V6 lineup, Ferrari will also have a new Hybrid V8 mid engined model, with price equal to or even higher than the V12 front engined model (currently the 812)

Their new business model would generate even higher profit margins than today's.

So the 812 successor will have a hybrid V8 and the next hypercar a hybrid V12?

Way more likely all hybrid V12s like what Lamborghini plans.

And hybrid systems for supercars has different benefits than like in a Prius. Think not fuel efficiency but super capacitors for a that electrified 'turbo boosts'. For the carmakers, it's an excellent way to pass the future emission regulations.

Ferrari F8 Tributo Evo Rendered as 488 Pista Replacement, Looks Focused

Now that the Ferrari F8 Tributo has landed at the Geneva Motor Show, the time has come to think about the next step in Maranello's V8 range. You see, while the F8 replaces the 488 GTB, there will obviously be a successor to the 488 Pista.

Keep in mind that Ferrari likes the refresh its nomenclature from one special edition to another, so we're not expecting the Pista moniker to comeback. Meanwhile, we're using the Evo badge applied to the latest iteration of the FKK K, which is the racing incarnation of the LaFerrari.

The renders we have here portray the said Maranello special, with the pixel play coming from digital artist Nicolas Proulx (you can check it all out in the Instagram posts at the bottom of the page).

Badging aside, the F8 Tributo follows a simple principle, borrowing various tech bits from the 488 Pista. For one thing, the newcomer packs the 720 hp engine spec of the special edition. Then there are the aero parts that have made their way into the newcomer, which are mixed with fresh developments such as the headlights or the rear fascia.

Of course, this means the Prancing Horse will have to go back to the drawing board for the track special based on the F8. Then again, the ways of the supercar realm are not that complicated.

For starters, adding extra muscle to twin-turbo engines is a beaten path. And we can say the same about the technology infusion that revolves around the motorsport world. For instance, all Ferrari has to do is look at its racing bin and the active aero or weight reduction solutions for the replacement of the 488 Pista will instantly show up.

Meanwhile, we're inviting you to feast your eyes on not one, but two pixel works portraying the future Italian exotic.

There will be no F8 Pista... The F8 is the last goodbye to V8 Turbo non-hybrid, it will be produced only for 18 months or so, and then new model with V6 Turbo Hybrid will come.

Above there will be a new model with V8 Turbo hybrid, that will be presented in May. Fastest Ferrari ever for much higher price than current V8 range.

So the Ferrari line looks like this?

Portofino
Ferrari V6 hybrid
Ferrari V8 hybrid
Ferrari V12 GT
Ferrari V12 hybrid

I'm confused! o_O

How come in the first picture it has no slit in the bonnet but has on the second?

Not crazy about the wheels. Any other options besides those directional wheels? Also it's unlikely there's no hardcore version of the F8, but will there be a Spider?

PS: at least the directional wheels are legit on either side.

It looks like just the same ole car as before, but then you see the details whoa!
