Z Series [Official] E89 BMW Z4

The BMW Z models are a line of roadsters manufactured by German automaker BMW. The Z stands for Zukunft (German for future), and has been produced in four different series with six generations consisting of roadster, coupé, sports car, and concept variants. The introduction of the M Coupé and M Roadster in the Z3 line marked the first of the Z series to have a high-performance BMW M variant. The first generation Z4 also continued to offer M Coupé and M Roadster variants. The current Z4 (G29) uses BMW's (B58B30) inline-six, its platform is the basis for the current Toyota Supra.
i'm going to venture a question:

can you close that i-Drive screen when you drive?

Mike

You should be able to since the other necessary buttons, such as the audio controller and such are on the steering wheel. So unless you were fiddling with settings and/or had the GPS working, I'd say it'll be off. But, I could be wrong.

Thanks :) can one open it and close it at will on the old z4 or the current 3-series? at least the E90 has a separate radio display (I think). Never driven without a radio display, wonder whether one would have to pop that screen open every two minutes (especially with an ipod hooked).

The current 1-series you mean. The 3er has the double hump if you order the car with nav system, and without the nav system, you have a regular old school radio and no iDrive screen.
Anyways, I'm fairly sure you can even have an activated guidance voice and still have the screen closed down.

Not to me :usa7uh: Always alu for this car, no matter what color combo :t-cheers:

That, or the BMW Individual Piano black wood.

^ The car needs aluminium instead of wood though, imho

depends on personal taste i think. i for one am glad that they invented this black piano wood so that it can make a massive come back. wood is not sporty, and does not belong in a porsche, but it gives a luxurious feel to the materials and suits the characters of non-M bmws. it was my favorite part in my 96 z3 interior, a massive block of wood wrapping the whole center-console in dark wood, it was later reduced in the newer z3s.

This picture is a little too much for me to handle right now (i'm studying). What an AMAZING stance. The angle of the shot might from low on the ground but that's how i like them.

Regarding the subject of interior (Klier, Tarek, etc), the white with black wood is the best combo for me, but does anyone else agree that white is too flashy and will dirty quickly? One has to see how well that black wood goes with a tanned interior. If ys, then I'm for it. Otherwise, it will have to be grey, whatchall think?

Mike

really a great looking car, the interior especially looks to have top notch builty quality.

it's a real shame my dad won't be considering a bmw for some time now after the incident with his 7er.

^ Best pics so far.....what a beauty this car is :eusa_danc

Mike, your combo sounds mighty fine, I'd go for it!
