Z Series [Official] E89 BMW Z4

The BMW Z models are a line of roadsters manufactured by German automaker BMW. The Z stands for Zukunft (German for future), and has been produced in four different series with six generations consisting of roadster, coupé, sports car, and concept variants. The introduction of the M Coupé and M Roadster in the Z3 line marked the first of the Z series to have a high-performance BMW M variant. The first generation Z4 also continued to offer M Coupé and M Roadster variants. The current Z4 (G29) uses BMW's (B58B30) inline-six, its platform is the basis for the current Toyota Supra.
^^You bought into the marketing. LOL That's the point. :D

We got it, joy and a wheel painting with colors of the rainbow, very clever and visually well done:usa7uh:

Super, now how about some more info on the M coupe from our insiders:eusa_pray

...is there nobody who has any information about the M version (or anything that has morte power than the i35?)

I am so desperate!

There is NO SUBSTITUTE for seeing whats beyond the car thats ahead of you.

That will only work as long as everybody else is driving small cars. And since not everybody else is driving small cars, someone will have to build a bigger SUV for people who can't grasp their traffic surrounding without having a birds-eye-view.

i also like to see further than the ahead cars trunk... thats why I drive fast cars and pass the guy in front...:t-drive:

just for info: I live in Germany - so you can almost always go faster ,-)

Are there anyone who have heard something about an Aerodynamic/M-package for the new Z4? The E85 had the aerodynamic package from the start if I remember correctly?

I really hope that they have some sort of "extra" exterior alternatives that comes with this kind of extra options. Don't get me wrong, I really like the looks of the E89, but if they can enhance it even further just as they did with the aerodynamic package on the E85 (or any other BMW like the E60/61, E92 etc), that would be most enjoyable and I would for sure pay extra for it.

^^^ The new Z4 will have Performance parts like the 1er coupé and 3er!

That sounds perfect Klier! Do you know when pictures of these "performance parts" could be presented?

I have visited the homepage of BMW USA, and it seems as if "performance parts" is not what I was aiming for in my question about aerodynamic/M-package options (please correct me if I'm wrong).

By aerodynamic/M-package options I mean for example the exterior options on my recent E85. Like the rear spoilers (incl. the rear wing), aero door sills and the another front.

After some research (BMW USA homepage) it seems as if "performence parts" is not what I was searching for in my question about aerodynamic/M-package question.

the exterior alternatives on my car in this post is what I asked about, like the aero sides, rear spoilers etc. In this case the exterior is called aerodynamic package.

Or have i misunderstood something in what you (Klier) ment about performance parts? please correct me if I am wrong in that case.

No, BMW performace basicly only is pimping the exterior (and interior, like short shifter and Recaro like seats) with official BMW parts. I would say that the Performance package is very similar to the Aerodynamic package of the past, only much better looking.

The M Package changes the way the car handles, and the Performance Package changes the way the car looks.

Edit; sorry, don't know about pictures or release dates...you have to ask Scott or Eni

excellent choice of words. What's the point of these packages anyway, never understood why plastic bits are so important, makes the car look chav, which is something you want to keep your BMW away from.

BMW performance parts is not only pimping your car. I couldn´t find it in the swedish homepage but at least in germany, performance parts is not only cosmetic changes.
For example 6 piston brakes are available. The brakes are also lighter which means lower sprung weight. Hopefully the offered Sports suspension, (which i think remeber reading is even firmer than the suspension fort the 135 Msport) is calibrated with the ligther brakes. (Remeber the spring constant and the damper constant i tunded for a certain sprung and unsprung weight. Just adding lightness wont give you better handling if the suspension isn´t set for it).
And why not add front en rigidity by adding a Front strut tower brace in carbon fiber?
And lighter seats (although not nearly as light as people first thought) implies a lighter car. Lighter car --> faster car.
