Z Series [Official] E89 BMW Z4

The BMW Z models are a line of roadsters manufactured by German automaker BMW. The Z stands for Zukunft (German for future), and has been produced in four different series with six generations consisting of roadster, coupé, sports car, and concept variants. The introduction of the M Coupé and M Roadster in the Z3 line marked the first of the Z series to have a high-performance BMW M variant. The first generation Z4 also continued to offer M Coupé and M Roadster variants. The current Z4 (G29) uses BMW's (B58B30) inline-six, its platform is the basis for the current Toyota Supra.
Cheapest Z4 from 48.500 euros in my country.....that would be around $60.000 in the U.S.....for a simple 2.3i :(

Similar here... but Im not very enthusiastic about new Z4.. its nice, but its heavy, got old engines.. somehow I still like E92 3 coupe with M package more - its sporty, elegant and useful and defenetly more "serious" car.

The engines in the Z4 are no older (or newer) than those in the E92.

I think a direct injection, twin-turbo, variable valve control, six cylinder engine is about as modern as one could expect these days.

Furthermore, the E92 may be more practical but the E89 is much more dramatic looking, it'll be sportier to drive and will be more rigid. I'd rather have the Z4.

Yes, the engine in the Z4 sdrive35i is up-to-date. But the 23i and 30i models use older engines (N52) than those in the E92 (N53).

Best regards, south

I've also had a Z4 'on' my iPhone. But in another way:

Man - IRL this car looks drop dead gorgeous. Even with crap rims. In May I'll have a test drive because my girlfriend wants one (only as a sdrive 23i but that's fair enough for a girl).

Now we're waiting for the Z4M Roadster and Z4 Coupe

In his latest interview the M GmbH CEO Ludwig Willlisch ruled out the E89 Z4 M (as well at the F01 M7). Sorry.

But ... in the last years BMW CEOs also ruled out X5 M, so ... :usa7uh:

BMW said the same about previous Z4 and we all know now they changed their mind.

Are there any road tests yet?

They will come these days from all the German magazines. AutoZeitung are the first to have a roadtest online, but AutoBild, Auto Motor und Sport and so on will follow very soon.
Autozeitung says that there is much more room inside and much better quality. And the ride must be much more comfortable, even in the sportiest setting of the suspension. Not sure if I like that...

Finally , Some of our excellent Australian shoot pictures mixed with Allacante in Spain.

Perfect in every angle and detail  :icondrool
Bravo BMW, couldn't be any better than this :eusa_clap
Now we're waiting for the Z4M Roadster and Z4 Coupe

I can't see the pics guys! Can anyone please re-host them?

Thank you!

:t-cheers:
