Based on 535i with 306 hp gasoline engine, the Active Hybrid adds on av 40kw (54hp) electro engine.

According to auto motor und sport it's the N55 mated to a 40kW e-buzzer

I really, really hate the fan boys for doing this to me, because I used to love BMW, but they're really turning me off the company. I hope those are LED's and not just ordinary fog lights, just to annoy them.

Because it is suppose to be driven slow. Why would you need amazing wheels on a slow car?

Not to mention they actually look nice.

Sounds great! Glad to hear that BMW will actually produce a Hybrid 5. Looks like they will beat the E-class and Infiniti M hybrids to the market.

I have LED lights (rearlights) on my babybimmer but on the 5-series it looks tacky. BMW or not, it aint beautiful.

Fugly maybe (sounds excessive to me tough, they don't look bad), but they actually have an aerodynamic purpose, cleaning and improving the air flow. Just like the rear-wheel cover of the F700.
