Sorry friend, not buying that whole sales crap! BMW's heritage accounts for much of it's current statues, which I to bought in on it until the current generation of vehicles came out. You also have to consider that the M3 cost less then both the RS4 and C63, and believe you and me that accounts for more than any other factor!

Doesn't look hideous to me at all... In fact i see more Bmw design in Mercedes Benz recent design theme then any other car company... I also think while the front end of the E90 isnt exactly nice.. with the coupe front it will be equal to the C class design

I think these cars have to appreciated in the metal to understand just how awesome both of there design is... The C63 looks great yes, but it didnt look overly fabulous when it was covered up... so lets wait until the M3 sedan is released before we go calling it "hideous" ...

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the new M3 sedan will have the coupe front end while still keeping the ugly rear end of the 3 sedan. Personally, I prefer the rear end of the 3 coupe and I'm wondering why BMW didn't stick the coupe's rear end on the 4 door M3.

Anyway for me, when I first saw the pics of the C63 on this thread, I liked it straight away whereas the M3, not so. Maybe if I see the M3 in the metal, I might appreciated a bit more.

Can't say I agree with you about the M5 but the M3, yep certainly one of the best cars in the world for sure

Yep you will... Just the 3 seroes coupe in the metal looks alot better... Imagine the M3 with the lower stance and bodykit... I agree the C63AMG looks better, yes, but that doesn't mean the M3 is hideous... Thats Autospies talk that and I elft autospies along time ago for that reason This site walks over Autospies and I hope it stays that way

It's written all over the S class... and the surfacing is very similar.. gone is the boxy shape of the previous generation replaced with a more rounded surface that BMW's have ... Not to mention the S Class interior

But don't worry... its nowhere near as obvious as Lexuses old LS knock off of the old S class

It's only subtle illiterations of BMW design

this car is simply out of control, mb really took this class to another level, i would be very surprised if anything from audi's camp can match this car in terms of looking aggressive.
this car simply blows away m3 and rs4 in terms of look. rs4 is now officially showing its age, and m3 coupe looks mundane next to this.

After digesting the pictures and the "alleged" specs from the Car & Driver article, here are my thoughts (although I will still wait for the official press release from MB for the official specs).

The C63's styling is very aggressive, makes the previous C55 looks very tame in comparison. I think this is a good thing if MB wants to take on the M3/RS4 head on, as the previous C32/C55 looked very conservative. The front spoiler is the most noticeable difference from the non-AMG Sport models. That bulge over the hood is also interesting.

If the car indeed weighs about 3800 lbs, it is 200-300 lbs heavier than the C55. But it has close to 90 more HP than the C55, so this car will be very fast. MB is predicting a 0-100km/h time of 4.5 seconds; they claimed 5.2 seconds for the C55.

I'm excited about the rev-matching downshifts from this new 7 speed AMG Speedshift transmission (first AMG to have this feature). I'm also excited about the 3 stage ESP system.

If the car is going to cost about $63000 USD, then it is a jump of about $8000-9000 USD over the C55.

It will be a big fight between the M3 and C63 over the next 2 years. Too bad the RS4 will likely bow out very soon.

From a personal point of view, I'm a little saddened, as my C55 is no longer the fastest and sportiest C-AMG car ever......I guess I'll just have to adapt......

oh, and now afterlooking at it for a bit more now, and i am a little calm now, i think the design are not very balanced, the front is way too heavy and aggressive with super-pronounced fender relative to the rest of the car. the back is agressive, but not quite on the same level as the front. and the side, is simply too weak compare to the powerful front. the rim is perfect for the total car style tho.

this is like a mercedes fanboy gay orgy... not something i want to join into...but i will say that the car looks great..especially those wheels-absolutely gorgeous. The rear diffuser is hot.

on the other hand the hood is a bit over done along with the vented fender flares. It doesnt seem like those are put there for any aerodynamic or engineering purposes so to me its just another knick knack that at the end of the day is pointless.

Other than that i look forward to this car-and reviews on it. Not too sure i would want one-but it does make a statement. great job mercedes.

30hp and 200nm extra. I dont see how a lighter M3 is going to match that. I doubt M3 will be the better trackcar. I loved the M3 when it arrived but after seeing the C63 I dont love the M3 anymore.
I hope the M3 Sedan will look a lot more aggressive than M3 Coupé.
