Mercedes Canada announces price of new C63 AMG

Toronto, Ontario – Mercedes-Benz has announced that its all-new C63 AMG will be arriving at dealerships across Canada in May, with a starting price of $63,500.

Based on the all-new 2008 C-Class, the C63 AMG uses an AMG 6.2-litre V8 engine that produces 451 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque, mated to an AMG Speedshift Plus seven-speed automatic transmission. The new unit features a declutching feature on downshifts to maintain vehicle balance during cornering, and shift times that are up to 50 per cent faster than in previous models. The C63 AMG’s top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h; it accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.

Exterior styling cues include a unique hood with power domes, widened front fenders, and a special front fascia and other components not shared with other C-Class models. Each engine, which shares no parts with other Mercedes-Benz V8 engines, is hand-assembled by a single technician at Mercedes-AMG in Affalterbach, Germany and is bench-tested to ensure maximum performance.

$63k, how ironic.

^^ That is a very aggresive price tag considering the M3 Sedan starts @ 69,900 CAD.

Yup, MB Canada has really priced the C63 very well. It really is a lot of bang for your dollar. Really makes Audi look bad ($94000 RS4 and $65000 S5).

Being cheaper than the M3 is not really new for Canada. The previous C55 was cheaper than the E46 M3 too ($72-73000 compared to $75-76000). But the C63 being close to $10000 cheaper than the C55 is amazing......a lot of it has to do with the fact that the Canadian dollar is virtually on par with the US dollar (in the past the Cdn dollar was only 0.6-0.7 of the US dollar).

I have my deposit on a phantom black audi s5 with a magma interior. Should i keep this order slated for january deliviery or if i could, go out and buy a c63? please i need advice.

Welcome to GCF mate.

It really depends on what you want. If sports GT is your thing, the S5 will be the better choice. If you want a raw performance car with 4 doors, the C63 will be the pick. Personally I will go for the C63.

I like both a lot. I'm gonna be using this car as a daily driver. Anybody have any solid advice on the decision. Wich is more reliable? Is the c63 a brutally rough drive? I want help. Has anybody driven eairher? If so can you tell us about the experience?
