M6 [Official] BMW M6 (F12/13)

The BMW M6 is a high-performance version of the 6 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand from 1983 to 2019 (with a hiatus from 1990 to 2004). Introduced in the coupe body style, the M6 was also built in convertible and fastback sedan ('Gran Coupe') body styles for later generations. An M6 model was built for each of the first three generations of the 6 Series. Production of the M6 ended in 2019 and it was replaced by the BMW M8 (F91/F92/F93) in 2019. Official website: BMW M
It's very easy for people to dismiss what will be a huge and completely unjustified price difference between the M5 and M6 when they're not in the market for either model.

Essentially and technically, they're the exact same car with a different shell and some different bits and some different gadgets maybe, here and there. So therein lies the issue for me as well. The giant premium is on the design (which is subjective, and for me far superior), and the exclusivity of the car which will come ONLY because of that artificially inflated price tag, which would make anyone near considering themselves a "value shopper" cringe.

Speechless.

Wow! What words can you use to describe such a masterpiece. Love it!

Only complaints are:

The steering wheel: Saw this first on the new 3 series and I am not sure how I feel about it. Looks skinny and not bulky like you'd imagine a steering wheel would, but it is seriously something that can be overlooked.

Is it not in my garage: yup! This is a problem.

I am amazed at how good this car looks from every single angle. The side panel that runs onto the doors is just a great touch and something we have seen in many renderings on M3s and other M cars. I suppose this is the direction that M is moving in to add a little subtle difference to the cars.

The interior seats on the convertible, though, remind me of Audi's RS seats.

The Convertible reminds me of a Mustang. A good thing if you ask me.

It's ALL about the Coupe, though! Convertible, be gone. :D

I am also for the coupe, but that convertible looks pretty damn good if you ask me.

I think it looks "OK" but I'm baffled by how much people are fawning over it. I think some people have lost a bit of perspective. There are many cars that I think are better looking such as the new 911.

Each to it's own, different people have different preferences and tastes.;)
Yet, the overall impressions is overwhelmingly positive and rightfully so.

IRL this car with it's compact, low slung and sleek stance + the unique M differentiation (which in the case of the M6 is much more visual and extreme than the M5) will be eye-candy in such a way that little boys will rush to their BMW dealers asking for a wall poster. And yes, most of grownups will be using our personal best pic from the official photo's for a screen saver or wall paper.

IMHO as much as I adore and admire the new 911(991) this new M6 coupe/cabrio is much better looking than anything in it's class at the moment. It achieves the 10/10 score in the 'want' factor as much as super cars i.e. Ferrari 458, Lamborghini Aventador etc. in my books.

Maybe a next gen GT3 or something, but a regular Carrera? No way Jose.

But then again, a proper coupe with 4 seats, RWD, the long hood and the typical proportions is what I like most in a car. 911 doesn't offer this. And it's a different kind of car altogether. Sportscar vs GT, with almost 500 extra kilos of pure luxury in the M6.

One thing I noticed and love very much is the leather covered center of steering wheel. I just hated it when all the interior is covered with fine leather except the center of the steering wheel which is plastic (5 Series Individual, 6 Series Individual, 7 Series Individual).

For me this interior surpases all Audi, Mercedes Porsche and Bentley interiors. Maybe I'd just add some aluminium pedals from the BMW Accessories products line.

I REALLY LOVE the front fender puff on the 6er, I must say. For the same reason I love the rear fender puff on the E-Class. Both are incorporated right and really add a dose of aggression and character/uniqueness to these designs. I was on the edge first with it, but now I like it, and feel the car would be less eventful without it (same goes for the E-Class).

Is it me or is the fender crease much more pronounced on the 6? I feel it's just how they're editing the photo's.

It's more pronounced on the M6 because it has wider fenders. It's less noticeable on a regular 6er.

Looking a whole lot better then the last M6. All my previous complains about M models not having a special or aggressive enough interior feel over a it's standard brethren is a thing of the past. With those seats and carbon trimming you truly get the feel a flagship. I'm not completely blown away like some here, but those shots with Biscayne BLVD in the backdrop are fantastic.

You're a Audi kinda guy, aren't you?:D

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
