M5 [Official] BMW M5 (F90)

The BMW M5 is a high-performance variant of the BMW 5 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. M5 models have been produced for every generation of the 5 Series since 1984, with occasional gaps in production (1995 to 1998, 2023 to 2024). Official website: BMW M
I'm assuming you mean *has* better steering?

I can see you're making every effort to goad 'you know whom' out of his protracted silence :eusa_naug:D
Haha yes has.
He is a stubborn one, I don’t know what I can do to get him to come out and play.

I think @John Galt rated it as 'old' because it's already been posted in another thread. Either the 'carwow drag race video' thread or the 'F90 vs E63' thread, can't remember which but I had seen it myself in one of those threads earlier in the week.

But for me personally, I never pay too much attention if any, to such homemade videos. Way too inconclusive and indefinitive to say the least.

Autopista (Spain) test results:
- Weight: 1925 kg
- 0 - 50 km/h: 1,24 s
- 0-100 km/h: 3,13 s
- 0-200 km/h: 10,98 s
- 400 m: 11,13 s

Exactly on E63 S-level.

Scans will come later today. :)

Bmw M5

I remember the non-CP F10 M5 putting down 610-620hp at the wheels when it first came out.

Very underrated, as been the case for every turbo powerplant from AMG, BMW, Audi S/RS. Before that, the AMG Supercharged 5.4L used to put down ridiculous figures stock on dynos back in the day. Benefits of forced induction.

Sport Auto once had an LCI F10 M5 comp pack pushing out something like 670hp in a twin test with the current RS6. With FI this is nothing new

My friend recently got his M5. While people loose their minds arguing which is better, there are some who have both.

The E has 800hp/900 lb/tq. The M5 will put down similar numbers with a simliar stage 2 tune.

Sounds proper now with downpipes and a x-pipe.

I haven't forgotten Scott's declaration in this thread on 13th November 2017 that a spy photo of a test M5 featured the future CP rims.

Competition Packet test vehicle with the CP rims.

This was the photo...

Scott was certain, and posted it as FACT.

I disagreed and said that they were not the future CP rims. I made a note to come back to this thread when the M5 CP was launched, mainly because I knew Scott was talking absolute rubbish as usual, and more importantly, he was posting as if he DID KNOW. This is exactly the issue I have with him, and I hope people will get the message now.

The usual small group of people will hit the "old" rating, but it p****s me off when someone is posting info as if they know something just to get the credit.

The M5 CP rims...

Always two there are.

Always? There's only ever been one Competition Package M5 before this, and that was the previous one, the F10, and that didn't have two different CP rims. You had the option of speccing the standard M5 rims (343M) rather than taking the CP rims (601M).

The current M3/M4 CP comes with one type of rim (666M), but again, you can spec the non-CP rims (437).

"YOUR" specification sheet? You've just copied that from ljb from the "other" forum!

They're NOT the Competition rims! They're just the current standard rims painted black!

I was more than happy to apologise if I was proven to be wrong, so are you prepared to do the same?

I do owe you an apology Betty Swollocks.
The bladed wheels are part of a new Winter package that will be utilised on The M8 also.

The specification sheet is actually the official one which was given as an e-Mail when I viewed the Competition M5 and M2 and X3M to which I posted details of the M2 Competition and will post the X3M information when we are at the introduction stages.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
