M5 [Official] BMW M5 (F90)

The BMW M5 is a high-performance variant of the BMW 5 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. M5 models have been produced for every generation of the 5 Series since 1984, with occasional gaps in production (1995 to 1998, 2023 to 2024). Official website: BMW M
^That was already posted sometime back.

This guy should be banned from buying anything BMW or Mercedes for a year or so.

This is probably going to shoot up in price now and become very sought after, now its sold out.

BMW M5 CS (2021)Sold out - the Super-M5 is no longer available
At the beginning of 2021, the BMW M5, which had just been modified at the time, got a hardcore offshoot – the M5 CS. It has only ten hp more, but weighs 70 kilograms less than the Competition model. At the beginning of 2022, the Super M5 will be over again – the model no longer appears in the configurator.

CS versions were previously available from M2, M3 and M4. In 2021, BMW brought an M5 CS (Competition Sport) for the first time. BMW did not limit the number of units at the time, but immediately warned that production capacity and construction time would limit the number of available units – it will hardly reach more than four digits, according to the calculation at the time. After less than a year, the M5 CS can no longer be ordered. The Munich-based company has sold about 1,100 units – certainly not a disadvantage for the owners – if they want to part with the good piece again at some point, the exclusivity could ensure stately prices, especially since there will no longer be a special model of the F90 series and this M5 will be the last only with V8: The successor gets a hybrid drive.

The price may also have been responsible for the fact that it was no longer M5 CS: The M5 CS started with 180,400 euros. This made it the most expensive BMW ever and 50,500 euros more expensive than the M5 Competition.

50,500 Euro surcharge for the M5 CS
For the surcharge you already got a business limousine. A BMW 520i, for example – including the optional extras metallic paint in phytonic blue and interior trim in aluminium finishing. A few extras more than color and lasts should offer the CS compared to the M5 Competition. First of all, it has the almost identical V8 biturbo in the bow, but the CS delivers ten hp more (i.e. 635 hp). Doesn't make the cabbage fat, you say? True, but the M5 CS is also less fat: at 1,825 kilograms, it weighs 70 less than the M5 Competition. Taken together, both throw it three tenths faster (in 3.0 seconds) to 100 km/h. At the top speed, however, the CS cannot drive away from the Competition – if the Drivers Package was selected for 2,450 euros in the Competition.

This is how it works with many equipment details that the CS already has as standard – adjusted for equipment, the additional price drops towards 20,000 euros. And the CS standard equipment includes some things that are not good words for money on other M5 models. For example, the matt paints in special colors (in the studio car Frozen Deep Green Metallic), and the yellow shining light tubes on the laser headlights as in racing cars or the kidney grille and the 20-inch rims in gold bronze. More than just appearance: carbon front hood, special spoiler lip at the front, rear diffuser and spoiler (all made of carbon). Inside, the front bucket seats (made of carbon) and the similarly shaped individual seats in the rear are CS-specific. So the top M5 is just a four-seater; for weight reasons, it also lacks the closed storage compartment between the seats at the front. The carbon stalls are reminiscent of those from the new M3 (optional). There it saves nine kilograms. The Munich-based company has also saved on noise insulation for weight reasons.

Carbon brake, M8 chassis and track tyres for more performance
Further weight savings (23 kilograms) are provided by the carbon ceramic brake system standard in the CS, which costs an additional 8,800 euros in the other M5 alone. On the CS, they cause standard track tyres (Pirelli P Zero Corsa) to decelerate, in which the chassis taken over from the M8 Gran Coupé with newly tuned suspension springs and a refined damper control system are intended to ensure intimate contact with the asphalt.

he purpose of the effort is a better performance on the circuit. BMW has heard from more M5 customers than expected that they are more often on the hunt for times with their four-door model. And an improvement in the prestigious lap time on the Nordschleife should also pass the Munich team. Incidentally, the course of the Eifel course is also engraved in the headrests.

Faster than the M5 Competition at Hockenheim
sport auto, the partner magazine of auto motor und sport, was able to take the still slightly camouflaged BMW M5 CS on a fast lap on the Hockenheim GP circuit. The time: 1:53.6 minutes. By way of comparison, the M5 Competition clocked 1m 54.2s on the track. Watch the complete round in the video here.

RESULT
As before with the M2, M3 and M4, BMW M GmbH further expanded its range of products for the M5 after the facelift. In addition to the standard M5 and the Competition variant, there was also the CS version with sharper optics and technology as well as more engine power and, above all, significantly less weight for about a year.
The price was crazy. But BMW had no problems with demand, although the number of units was not limited. But the construction time. Deliveries started in March 2021, and by the end of January 2022, the Super M5 was no longer available to order.

No plates = Brand spanking new. Probably the fortunate owner drove off the dealer's lot on the same day the picture was taken.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
