iX [Official] BMW iX (i20) [2021-

The BMW iX is a battery-electric mid-size luxury crossover SUV manufactured and marketed by the German automobile manufacturer BMW. It was unveiled in concept form as the Vision iNext at the 2018 LA Auto Show, and then in its production form in November 2020. The iX is BMW's second fully electric vehicle after the i3 in 2013, and the fourth BMW i sub-brand model.
Windscreen washer bottle is hidden beneath the front badge. Clamshell hood is sealed and can not be opened. I.e. no frunk

The driver could use this as a toilet in emergency cases.

It's rumoured to start at £85,000 here. That's 50% more than the X5 starts at, and about £10k more than the X7. I'm not saying the iX wouldn't have its advantages against both, but I think pricing will stop it being as popular, even if nothing else did.

Depending on your market obviously. Quite a few markets in Europe have CO2 output based taxes where the price will be less or even similar. In my country the hybrid X5 45e costs 12k less than the regular gasoline version (same ICE but lower CO2). Just hope though that Boris and Barnier strike a deal soon so that these cars won’t get even more expensive.

Not trying to offend, but what are these 'much more advanced' features you refer to?

To name a few: carbon core so lower weight, 5G, intelligent glass control, more advanced autonomous driving systems.

“A very focused view on what our customers want”
-Proceeds to release an ad giving a f#ck about customer feedback.
It all makes perfect sense once you realize that the customers they are talking about are San Francisco 1%ers who will raise their children as non-binary so they can score some virtue points on twitter. Normal car people, of course, are just close-minded morons who can be smugly ignored.

I am sure I recognise some of the comments from people here...

Wokeness level through the roof here. "What's your reason not to change?" Well, vast question, but when you've spent a century building, honing and justifying a brand identity, you don't just come and say 'Hey that wasn't that important in the end, here, let me give it a quick wipe and start all over from scratch, see, didn't lose anything of value anyway!'. Otherwise one may ask by that same token: "Why not dress like a clown?", "Why bother having good taste?", "Why buy electric to begin with if that's the new norm?", and ultimately "Why even stay at BMW?!", since change is being praised for change itself.

I'd gladly welcome design tweaks to the BMWi electric lineup, including some of the extra sharpness, coldness and lounge furniture feel of this iX interior, if a high level of good taste and familiar BMW identity were maintained. But they seem to have deliberately pushed the cursor off the charts to make an almost political statement and appeal to certain non-petrolhead demographics that live off of trends and social media with a product that's deliberately just that: a different, 'green', trendy, soulless appliance.

“change for the sake of change” when there wasn’t anything wrong with it to begin with (much like the new layout on this forum)

An update to the forum software was required, as a consequence of this a great deal of the customisation and modification work that had been done, was lost or no longer compatible. Judging by Mark's comments during the transition, this was definitely not something he'd choose to do just for the sake of it.

Indeed can understand the reference to French cars as I mentioned in a previous post, notably the DS7 which has one of the best interiors on the market right now.

Judging by the rumored price , they will attack Model X

But I can't find any advantages over it.

No frunk

Kind of small boot

I'm betting my house that it will be years away from Tesla's autopilot....

And by the time iX will hit the market , Tesla probably will put their new battery inside ( better specs )

Design wise? That's debatable....

It has its charm....
What is frunk? trunk under the hood?

Very beautiful what they did with the iDrive and the "tactile wood", the whole interior and exterior is like a concept car

The front looks interesting, in red at least. But those headlights graphics look like little bones...

And, of all the people to give the scoop to, BMW - why Supacah Blaundee? :meh:

Good connections and/or female privilege. I like her videos but it's not like she is head and shoulders above every other reviewer out there, and yet she consistently gets first-hand access to the most exclusive premieres and concept-cars. It seems like the whole industry somehow believes that a female is inherently better at hosting and presenting nice stuff... Not very woke! :geek:

To understand it? Think of it as a much larger i3.
It has that similar feel to everything especially the interior.
