A car that's trying waaay too hard. Even a confused design brand like Hyundai feel more at home with the overall look, than this bimmer. A pity
this will sell like hot cakes in the executive SUV segment.
Despite the negative statements of some here (who would have thought...) this will sell like hot cakes in the executive SUV segment. Much more advanced than MB and Audi's offerings, great range and a bold statement in terms of exterior and interior design. Can imagine the reference to some French cars as the iX breathes a similar joie de vivre.
600 km is not bad at all. But the idea that this approach is already abandoned at BMW makes it like a band with only one hit, that has disappeared after it.Not trying to offend, but what are these 'much more advanced' features you refer to?
Also the range will be pretty mediocre by the end of 2021, no?
So disappointing: the entire campaign to end-product reveal.
Why not use the opportunity to build an absolutely beautiful electric vehicle? Make people sit up and take notice and say "Wow - look at that - if the future is electric then count me in!"
Instead, we get this. A van. An ugly van. With an interior that doesn't resonate with anyone - neither BMW loyalists nor fresh-thinking, early adopters.
And why - why, why, why - must they persist with those blue accents? That message is old and tired now.
Ever since I was a young kid growing up through my twenties, thirties... BMW always made exciting cars. Even a boggo 5er was exciting! E39? Forget the magnificent M5 - even the 528i was a sensation. And yes, I'm not saying that all current BMWs lack excitement either, but this, this is not exciting. It's boring. I don't want to look at it and I certainly don't yearn for one because I absolutely have to have its achingly beautiful presence on my driveway.
A new generation of electric BMW, the first NEXT car, surely should evoke other emotions in order to set the tone? I guess, "it's practical and it's electric" is good enough for BMW now...

What I still don't get is the strategy of leading with a SUV. Yes, SUVs sell, but at the price speculated this will never be a big seller, so why not make your flagship an attractive car that will be good for PR like Taycan/etron GT?
Maybe they don't want to compete directly with Porsche. Its competitors will be the Model X, which is not a great seller and the EQS SUV, so maybe it is easier to make a good impression exactly in this segment.I like the interior, but at least as seen, between the gold and the jewel buttons, is too effeminate. Maybe there are alternative options.
Exterior, less said the better. That f#cking grill is the horse head from the Horsey Horseless.
