Wish there would be a standard version with xdrive. The car is great to drive but i just don't get warm with the m-sport, especially the back.
There’s an i4 xDrive40 with 400hp from two motors, coming so you can probably get that without M sport.

What the i4 could have been?

As seen in the comparison with the recently presented Citroen C5X, with a body type concept that would qualify as the "same" I can say to your concern that it should have been done like that in that time and space, with the drag of the i8 and the great acceptance of the that design, with which I would have coexisted and had a four-door version like those sketches, + EV was a sure success and the continuation, evolution and presence that they needed as pioneers in the EV era.

Never heard Harry express so much disappointment in a car before.

Agree. There were some members that were arguing that a dedicated platform was not needed for EVs but this review really shows how the majority of the flaws in the i4 are a result of sharing architecture with ICE. 180 mile range in the absence of cold temperatures is shockingly bad.

He has praised the iX for its realistic range compared to the Teslas. And not only that, he critisizes the BMW because it's not a proper M car like BMW is badging.

So, honetly, not sure who do you want to trick with your usual discourse.

Summary of Edmunds test:
The 536-horsepower 2022 BMW i4 M50 covered 268 miles in Edmunds' real-world EV range test, besting its EPA-estimated range by 41 miles.
The i4's range overachievement compared to its EPA estimate puts it in the 80th percentile among all luxury EVs Edmunds has tested.
The i4 uses a unique motor that BMW designed in-house — a brushed AC synchronous design that dispenses with using rare earth metals.
