4 Series [Official] BMW i4 (G26)

The BMW 4 Series is a range of compact executive cars manufactured by BMW since 2013. The 4 Series was created when BMW spun off the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the 3 Series into a separate series.
Those Hans Zimmer Sound designed BMWi’s sound epic… :p

BMW EV sales in Jan in Europe -

So far, i4 seems to be even bigger sales flop than eqs (given it is much cheaper car).
In the first 6~12 months demand is always higher than what the automaker can deliver - especially in the EV market. So relax and check again in a year.

That is fantastic. So what should I expect after I relax and check again in a year?

This is what you should expect, I'll post it again because it seems you forgot, 6.000 new jobs because they can't cope etc. etc. ring your bell?

"With regards to existing EV models, demand appears to be very high: “Our i4 is sold out for months, as is the iX,” said the chief executive, who expects much of the same next year when BMW will introduce an electric version of its 7 Series luxury sedan"

I am expecting a number - of how many i4s BMW will sell in a year.

Context, for anyone interested.

The popularity of the Porsche Taycan continues to amaze. VAG MEB automobiles are beginning to establish themselves as popular entity. Not at all surprised regarding the popularity of the Hyundai Group entries.

I will provoke the other side with a number: My forecast is for up to 40 000 units per year, having in mind that it won't be sold in China. Although this number could be very optimistic.
I don't know how it could be possible for a German manufacturer not to be able to cope with such a number (hypothetical) and to be surprised by the huge demand.

Less range than even Model 3 with 60kwh LFP battery.

The Model 3 has more range and is quicker, yes. There i4 is better at everything else, including the most important part you have all but forgotten: the way it drives.

Why do you think that the i4 drives better?Check for example the "km77" tests. The Model 3 heavily beats the M4 Competition, let alone the i4.

And the Audi e-tron beats BMW M4 in the "km77" test. It's all about exit speed in this test. Cars with intrusive ESP have better results but their exit speed is way lower. For example Dacia has better results than many sport cars. But you don't want intrusive ESP on a sport car because it would reduce track times and driver engagement.

I haven't noticed any track reduced times of the Model 3. I'm looking forward to tract tests of the i4 and to compare its times to those of the model 3.

The only to achieve a half decent range in a BEV is by driving it like an old lady. Any speed above 90 km/h and you'll be running the risk of getting a cardiac arrest as range anxiety settles in.

This is a problem moving to EV not only BMW. You need to drive always on the mental edge of effeciency unless you are doing like low mielage everyday then you dont need to stress.

The other problem is so many charging station don't work.

The main two issues is range and fast chargers i mean ultra fast

Even if you don't drive that much, it still would be an stressful experience. You'd have to calculate your route before setting off and once you set off, you have to constantly check your battery level. That really puts an edge on your nerves and drives you to distraction.

Anyway, it seems to me that not a single production BEV can reach a real life range of 500 km while being driven at highway speeds with the air-con on.
