so does anyone know why Sparkling Graphite is gone from BMW completely?

You are kidding right? That was one of the best colours! :t-banghea

Rob am I crazy or is there something slightly 'organic' about this face lifted 3?

There is somehting about the rear lights, same thing on the F01, they look like some deep sea animal...

That touring one looks fantastic. Purely on looks, I always preferred Audi wagons most in this segment, but this one does give the Audi a serious run for it money. Hopefully they will bring a 335d touring state side.

Must be the tail light graphics:

Nope.

"Shark gill arches" is the right answer.

Eg. here are the very much exposed gill arches of basking shark:

BMW design department is obsessed with shark: shark nose (grille / fascia), shark fin (antenna), shark gill slits (details on fenders), shark eyes (headlights), shark nostrils (twin kidneys), shark mouth (air intake), shark tail (tail / boot lid) ...

Even the flame-surfacing ver. 2.0 is more shark-like detailed: versus the bat-wing-like FS ver. 1.0

Even more: even some exterior colors are shark inspired!!! :t-crazy2:

well...as much as I love the Sparkling Graphite on my 3...
but I am sad to say that this colour will be gone from all 2009 models:t-hands:
and I wonder why:eusa_thin

I think the FL makes the touring look fantastic for some reason
but not so much for the saloon

I'm about to order an E90 / LCI model (325i) with steptronic. I'm considering opting for the sports leather steering wheel with paddle shifters. However, I'm not sure how useful they're when you need to downshift quickly in the middle of cruising. In other words: if you have the gear lever in D (not DS), does the paddle shifters downshift, or they only work when the gear lever is in DS?

definitely get the sports package with sports wheel and sports seats! you'll regret it if you don't order it....
for the paddle shifters, they are not a necessity in normal driving conditions.
but they are extremely helpful when you are doing high speed turns where two hand driving is required. Oh, you might find the paddle shift weird since it does up shift when you push it forward and down shift when you pull it towards you on either side. And yes, you can use the paddle shifter in D mode, but it will turn back to D a few seconds after you up/downshift. hope this helps:usa7uh:

Thanks! :) Another concern from my thick head: are those paddle shifters really 100% ergonomically correct? ;) When you have a "normal sized" hand, is it virtually impossible that the paddle shifters (especially the top, pushable parts) get in the way of your hands or fingers when e.g. you're driving a bit vigorously?
