4 Series [Official] BMW 4er Convertible (F33)

The BMW 4 Series is a range of compact executive cars manufactured by BMW since 2013. The 4 Series was created when BMW spun off the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the 3 Series into a separate series.
Funny, how not that long ago we were duscussing here if the F12 6er would be hard top or soft top and now even the roadsters are going to have soft top again. I think it is a good choice for the cabrios but not sure the roadsters. I have always loved how the SL and SLK looked with the hard tops, and BMW did a terrific job with the current Z4 one.

Dear all. .
Thought I would share observations after driving the 435 for a year. I have been (and am) a Mercedes owner (2015 S65). As a daily driver the car is solid in almost any weather environment; top down and wind deflector up, it is nearly as user friendly as my former Carrera 4S. There are a number of BMW specific interfaces that I don't like: 1) having to hit buttons twice (eg turning the car off); 2) the blind spot warning system is markedly inferior to any of the Mercedes that I have had (S class, ML class, SL class); 3) voice recognition system is inferior to the Mercedes; 4) controls in console are very close to the passenger, meaning that from time to time my passenger inadvertently hits the control knob or one of the other buttons.
Having said that, no other German mark makes a better small/mid-size convertible; no one can beat the in line 6; and having the service bundled in the price is a real positive. Net/net - very solid car with a number of compromises

BMW 435i Convertible gets funky orange accents

Another week and another special project by the folks at BMW Abu Dhabi. The Middle East-based dealership has made a name for itself with daring and provocative BMW projects, and the one seen here today makes no exception.

The base model is a 435i Convertible which gets a makeover and some power upgrades. First, the beautiful cabriolet was adorned with a series of M Performance Parts – front splitter, rear diffuser, side skirts and air inlets. All of those are painted in orange to match the Sakhir Orange interior and the funky vinyl wrap which spans across the hood, sides and trunk.

An Akrapovic Evolution exhaust system will offer a great sound at low revs and a deep growl as soon as you floor the gas pedal.

Speaking of performance, BMW Abu Dhabi won’t say whether the ECU has been remapped, so if we assume it’s still in standard form then the 435i Cabrio with the 8-speed automatic transmission will hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.5 seconds – thanks to its 306 horsepower and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal.
