Damn ...it seems some of those images are not working ...I'll fix that now

EDIT: What a fiasco! .....10 minutes I'll never get back! LOL
All good now thanks Rob! I really think the car will look much more "Bentley" like without the vertical bars. Also the dashboard is staring to look very dated.

A very good colour combo for this car:

CAR MAGAZINE REVIEW:
Bentley Mulsanne (2016) review
Now that the Bentayga furore has blown over, helped on its way by a gale of praise for the car’s startling dynamic prowess, the Crewe carmaker has seen fit to turn its attentions to Mulsanne, the flagship that serves as both the luxury bookend to the range (the race-inspired GT3-R sits at the other) and the purest expression of Bentley’s DNA. With more power, more refinement and the seventh-generation Rolls Phantom officially retired, is the Mulsanne now the finest exponent of British automotive luxury?

Are you sure this is new?
The engine, transmission, floorpan and much of the body (everything aft of the windscreen) are retained. Under the bonnet engine management software meddling has yielded additional power and torque. The sheet metal up front is fresh, and there’s a new infotainment system lurking within a familiar dash. But the big push has been on refinement, with numerous technologies to further hush and isolate the sanctuary that is the Mulsanne’s hidebound inner sanctum.

I look at it and think it looks splendid, but then I get to that bloody grille and wonder, "Why did they mess with a good thing?"

I pretty much felt the same when I first saw the changes. However, I never really loved the old Mulsanne's face either.

Still, this is a wonderful car and I have become a bigger fan of it over time.

The folks (commenters) on Jalopnik adore this guy for some reason. The Miata/Volvo and "manual or nothing" crowd. I'm convinced he's a spokesman for Carmax

Interesting.

If I were given a near $400k USD vehicle to test drive, I sure has heck wouldn't be pressing on the motorized sun screens or jamming the polished metal cupholders around.

I don't even treat my own car in such a maniacal manner.

Always preferred Rolls over Bentley but I'd take one of these over the Ghost absolutely any day....Elegance redefined

The reviews I've seen by him, I've liked for the most part, hence the "endearingly" goofy. If I was given a car to review, especially a car in such a rarefied class, I'd like to check out all of it, quirks, details, and all. Taking the examples you pointed out, I'd like to see how obsessive Bentley was that they even included a well-hidden sunscreen for the small window. I honestly don't see what he's doing wrong. Maybe I can relate to it because I remember sitting in Phantom Drophead and being wowed by the craftmanship and details.

Does he always wear some dirty carpet on himself all the time?
Often enough.

doug is a down to earth reviewer that show what you would otherwise NOT see in a car review, i.e did you know carrera GT has a hidden storage compartment in the door?
