Q5 [Official] Audi SQ5 TDI

Audi UK configurator for the SQ5 is now up and running.

Just for fun I configed both an SQ5 and X3 35d M/Sport to how I would want them and the Audi works out over £600 cheaper, plus with that you get unique 20" rims, unique paint, SQ5 badging to separate it from the rest of the range, quad pipes with improved note.

And the fact it looks way better for me it's a no brainer.

And a nice brittle ride, like so many sporting Audis on those 20 inchers on Northern Ireland B-roads.

Very true. LOL

I really need to try one out before I build it but as I'm going tomorrow to finalise this I'm going on a gut feeling that it will be OK. I've driven an S-Line Q5 with 20s on my roads which wasn't too bad so here's hoping the SQ5 isn't any worse.

What I have been told is it corners very level for an SUV and can cover ground at a remarkable turn of speed for a vehicle of its type. Should be a hoot annoying the sh1t out of all the boy racers.

Deck, don't worry about 20" on the Q5. I can assure you that with all these speed bumps, offloads etc in Doha, 20" with 255/45 will do just fine, as on my Q5.

I myself am waiting for the 354 TFSI SQ5, which for sure will be my next car.

With 255/45 I wouldn't worry that much either. It's got as much tyre sidewall height as my 205/55R16!

The reason why I stick more so with SUVs is the height, lifting my son into them is easier on my back than it is with a car, do it on a regular basis and you'll know what I mean. As for the car itself, I could have so easily have went for the X3 which is also a great SUV but my only concern with it is the lack of separation, with its most potent model you are paying top dollar and there's nothing unique about it either inside or out which is a shame, with the SQ5 there's enough things to set it apart and make you feel you've buying something a bit more special if you understand what I mean, sure the exhaust sound system is a gimmick but it's another thing that sets it apart and something you can have a little fun with, especially at the school run.

@Tumbo, the petrol version will be a beast, knowing how under-rated that 3.0TFSI engine is in the S4 I would imagine that 354hp will probably be closer to 400hp. When you get yours you will need to rename it USS Enterprise and call yourself Cpt. Kirk.... wrap speed. LOL

Yeah, I just hope it wont be mega-expencive. And yeah, that engine is really something. It will for sure be easy to tune as well. I really like the SQ5 TDI, but for a place like Doha, I dont think it will ever come here. So I'm expecting the car...end of next year? I just like the Q5 design so much, and my dreamcar would be as RS Q5 for sure. For me, the size, the design, the handling, the interior quality of this car, is just perfection.

I doubt its an RS Q5, more likely an RS Q3 though I don't quite see the point in offering an RS model of it when there's no S version yet.

^ Kind of surprising your SQ5 is cancelled....or then again, not really surprising really....

And no, no need to send a PM to 'explain'.

F*** I want this car so badly. The TFSI version is the dream. But I wouldnt say no to the TDI either. This car is my ultimate car! (until the RSQ5 comes... *dreaming mode on*)

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
