e-tron GT [Official] Audi e-tron GT

The Audi e-tron GT is a battery electric executive car produced by Audi since late 2020 as part of the e-tron battery electric sub-brand, and the third fully electric car model, after Q8 e-tron and Q8 e-tron Sportback SUVs. It is also Audi's first full-sized electric sedan, and the RS e-tron GT, put on the market in 2021 is, in terms of 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) times, the fastest Audi sedan to date. Based on the J1 platform shared with the Porsche Taycan, the car went on sale in March 2021.

Audi surprisingly publishes teasers for a new e-tron model

I have a hunch that this may be a teaser for the Landjet Concept-which will reportedly be presented at this years' IAA in Munich. Timing of teaser release coincides with the official presentation of the M-B EQS as well.

Whatever-I am really liking it !

Automotive media sources now report that this may be the teaser for the PPE-platformed executive segment sedoupe aka E6. Quite the surprise that a production-near concept will be revealed at the Shanghai Motor Show 2021. So, contrary to my hunch, not a Landjet prelude it seems.

The GT is looking great from the outside, but inside it is quite conventional. (hausbacken)
The biggest mistake this year is to decide too early for a specific model.
At Christmas the GT looked like the best EV by far, but in the meantime others have presented a lot of interesting new vehicles. And the GT now looks mainly overly expensive.
The EQS is not as nice from the outside but is full of new technology (gadgets) but offers also a great cw value (drag coefficient) and a nice big battery. And (important to me) the option to choose between back wheel drive (single motor) and full wheel drive ( two motors). The interior is a class better than the GT is my impression. Compared to that the GT is not my favorite anymore, it seems rather a bit old fashioned (oversized grille, maybe even oversized front, no flexibility in configuration, too expensive for what it offers).

The eTron GT is guaranteed to clutch admiring stares. But it will remain a relative rarity due to the limitied capacities of the Böllinger Höfe production facility, which is not equipped to facilitate high-volume unit numbers. Unlike M-Bs' Factory 56 production lines. Not to mention the eTron GTs' starting prices, the intra-corporate competition with the very successful Porsche Taycan, etc.

The A6 eTron + derivatives will be the commercially far more significant automobiles for Audi AG as well as VAG as a whole. Sure, it arguably punches a bit lower than the EQS, but it will surely grasp the hearts and wallets of more than a few potential EQS shoppers (and perhaps many potential EQE shoppers as well).

According to this article Audi expanded and upgraded the plant to accommodate the e-Tron GT.

Lap time by Auto Moto (TF1, France) vs Porsche Panamera Turbo S... quite far behind !

I wouldn't think that the eTron GTs' allure lies in its' "on track" abilities. However, it could be one of the most refined grand tourers. Now...if it weren't for that damned range issue. Perhaps we can anticipate betterment as the eTron (SUV) facelift promises vastly increased range-and maybe something similar will soon migrate to other eTron offerings.

If it had a I6 cylinder diesel, I’d buy it in an instant. Great looking GT and a down to earth interior, without super duper hyperscreen.

Being able to navigate a genuine 550-to-600kms between rapid charges in the spirited manner that a grand touring car is meant to be driven (no raw-egging the accelerator and/or slipstreaming large lorries) would be fine for me.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
