A3/S3/RS3 Official: Audi A3 e-tron Concept

The Audi A3 is a small family car (C-segment) manufactured and marketed by Audi AG since September 1996. The first two generations of the Audi A3 were based on the Volkswagen Group A platform, while the third and fourth generations use the Volkswagen Group MQB platform.
Wow, that looks great. It looks like a proper evolution of the previous A4.

I don't know what the hell's going on, but Audi's really starting to grow on me, all of a sudden. Maybe it's the refreshingly simplistic and natural lines and designs. Keep it up Audi! Don't get ahead of yourselves and "revolutionize" yourselves so quickly by cluttering your stuff up!

Clean, crisp and precise is the key to the longivity of design. Walter Gropius and his Bauhaus Manifesto set an example. The VW-Group design chief Walter da Silva gets it, as does perhaps to a somewhat lesser extent BMW head of design Adrian van Hooydonk. M-Bs' F800 Concept leaves me hopeful...

What may appear as boring to many now is going to be regarded as classic and timeless in the not too distant future. And these so called "boring" designs have the tendancy to grow on people quickly. And they will find themselves amazed with the self-realization that the cars' they found so "HOT" at first have become obsolete, dowdy and tacky. At best, these cars will, in time, be regarded as interestingly funky. This will surely not be the fate of almost any current Audi nor the fate of most current BMWs'.

Even U.S. manufacturers have presented some very fitting examples: the 1961-63 Lincoln Continental immediately comes to mind. Or the Raymond Loewy designed 1953 Studebaker.

^Might you're encounter with the A7 have anything to do with that?

Perhaps it helped, I'm sure. Also, I had started to find the A4's more attractive recently. Not that I think they're drop dead gorgeous, but the simplistic cleanliness has become a breath of fresh air to me. It says a lot because originally I thought it looked as Premium as a Kia, especially in comparison with the previous version.

I sat in an A8 as well (when I checked out the A7) and got comfy in there. I gotta say, it doesn't feel/appear like a car that's worth as much as it's going for (speaking generally about the car as a whole), but it's a well done, clean Sedan, with great room and a fresh feeling.

K-A you and Tycoon are going to give myself and Klier sleepless nights!:eusa_doh:

'BORG' FANS!:D

Wow that's a stunning beast, awesome proportions, perfect crisp lines... The back especially is much better than the current "crying back" design theme of Audi.

However... It sooo looks like it was an A4!! The A3 has really grown!

I love it! The simple and airy interior is a very welcome breath of fresh air compared to current high, invading dark things we have in modern cars.

I have to say I´m starting to find the new A8 nicer after having seeing a few of them in the streets. Having said that, I´d never buy an A8 over a 7er, or an S-Class.

This Concept (but in non-Hybrid guise) looks pretty fine to me, in fact I like it much more than the current A4, which I found boring since day one.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
