A1/S1 Official: Audi A1

The Audi A1 is a luxury supermini car produced by Audi. Predecessor: Audi 50, Audi A2. Production: 2010-2026.
Ok, I have to admit that spec'ed like this the A1 looks very nice. But the cost for all those visual updates will skyrocket the price of the car into Cooper/ Cooper S price levels.

Those pics above are very unflattering and the car simply doesn't look good.

The wheels look too small, too much sheetmetal, front overhang's very long and heavy. Metal coloured arch highlights a weak roofline with a positively flimsy looking C-pillar which give the impression of Pluriel / 500C type construction. There's something very insubstantial in the way the A1 looks.

I'm still not convinced by the A1.

Mr. BMW myself admitted he likes the RS5, looks good!

Now then - that said, this little car is plain, with no 'edge', nothing that makes it more special or more of a 'niche' than a Mini, Fiat 500, Alfa Mito etc.
The truth is that the A1 looks nothing special at all...I'd rather have the 3 cars I have mentioned or a Kia Soul, VW Polo, Ford Fiesta, Mazda 2 in the 'lower price range' than pay a premium for a A1 that looks anything except premium:eusa_doh:

Compared to its segment it looks really good. I do think they achieved the "cool" factor, in an Audi way. I don't think they will have a problem selling this thing in that segment. They are claiming extraordinary driving experience...let's wait and see.

In these RL pics, despite the body kit with all those vents, doesn't look anywhere as sporty as Mini with it's 4 wheels at the corner stance.

Seriously the car doesn't look sport or funky. Just a normal good looking small Audi. I don't know about European market, but I doubt it will be successful in the US looking like that (if they brought it here in the first place).

The competition kits for the A1 awaken memories of legendary moments in Audi motorsporting history, such as Walter Rohrl's "storming" of Pikes Peak in 1987 in the Audi S1 Sport quattro. The two accessories packages for the interior and exterior are perfectly matched to each other. Their colour scheme pays subtle homage to the successes of the 1980's by using the same colours used then by Audi motorsport.competition kit legends interior and competition kit legends interior plus

The two equipment packages give the interior of the A1 an unmistakably sporty expression. The decorative trim on the air vents, the centre console, the door handles and the interior mirror enhance the dynamic look. Floor mats with matching graphic print round off the individual design. The competition kit legends interior plus also places coloured highlights on the sports leather steering wheel, gear lever and handbrake grip.

^That's all great but it's still a real shame the A1 doesn't get quattro. :t-banghea

Nice paint job, but would have been better on RS5 or TT RS, instead of whoring S1 quattro heritage on a front wheel drive A1.

What a charming little Audi. I wonder if the U.S. is on the list?? Anyone know?

That's the same location in Los Angeles we have booked for an upcoming BMW.

It just seems their trying to immitate "The Hire" The BMW film series.
I was @ the Justin Timberlake launch in Geneva and talk about wooden presentation?
The same pattern of wooden as one Anakin Skywalker in that Star Wars film.

^^ Good lord that looked so cheesy. The BMW short movies with Clive Owen were way better.

It's not very often I use this words and never done it towards Audi but...

Oh my god, wha tha shitt LOLZ!!!1 *** was dat? Retarded? OMG YES!

:t-crazy2: I can't belive this is "the only way" to promote a car ?
:jpshakehe:nopity:ps: Justin I love you....

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
