DBS [Official] Aston Martin DBS Superleggera

Excuse me? I didn’t even know it came with an 8 speed ZF box until you mentioned it and downplayed it. So stop playing around.

Who's playing around? I drive a manual DBS... Aston told me directly they're developing a new dog-leg 7-speed manual, which will be available after launch. That's my preferred option, hence my post. With a manual gearbox I'll buy it.

I like it. Guess this will compete against the 812SF? I mean for me it looks better than the Ferrari.

I like too. The launch colour is fantastic and it looks smoking hot from all angels. It's main competitor will be the 812 GTO or whatever Ferrari will call it.

To be Frank, the 812 is in a different league in terms of engineering finess.

812SF is the main competitior. It reminds me of when the last DBS' direct competitor was the 599GTB. It was also down exactly 100hp, and just slower in general.

Here it's also the Aston the beauty and the Ferrari the beast, thought the 599 was a pretty car.

I don't understand why Aston would use a sensual red DBS in official photos but then give vloggers a preview of a matte prototype? :t-crazy2::t-crazy2:

The launch colours for the Vantage were very odd.

Performance figures are also out. 725PS at 6500rpm, 900Nm from 1800-5000rpm, 0-100 in 3,4s, 0-160 in 6,4s, 0-200 in less than 9s, top speed 340km/h...

Ceramic brakes is optional?.. really in this category it should be damn standard, some goes with 812 SF too.

Dose outright pace really matter? So long as you enjoy the car does it matter one little bit that someone else might have something faster than you??

Oh, I definitely agree... sometimes grace is better than pace. In the arm chair YT racer world we live in... for many the 812SF being faster is all it takes for someone to take it over the DBS.

They’re standard just like the last DBS. Ceramic brakes have been standard on all Ferraris since 2008.

My god Aston-Martin is back. Stunning. Take the DB11 out to the wrecker. WOW. Now put this grille on the Vantage please.

M

Just stunning, truly!
No overdone messy lines here. It is a classic cab-back design with muscular details done right.

Love the shut lines this design.

Rear is far better executed than the DB11 though. Seems like the DB11 was Aston's R231.
