The car in this photo is not the new DB11 and looks different from the current vantage. Could it be a glimpse of the new vantage?

With the exception of the front wheel arches, I have to say I'm starting to get used to the way this car looks. Interior, though, is a different thing entirely, it just doesn't do justice to a car of this class and price tag

I agree it's also starting to grow on me but at the same time it has many challenging styling features that make me think, do I like it or don't I like it? It does look good in this red colour but I still prefer the looks of the older Aston models.

I have to admit that the exterior has grown on me as I see more DB11s in the flesh.

The interior design screams 2007, but a high level craftsmanship is evident. Long gone are the days of Volvo keys wrapped in leather.

Controversial arches aside - I think this is a gorgeous, gorgeous thing...
That's the only part of the exterior that still looks odd to my eyes, but as an overall package, there's absolutely no denying this thing is an absolute looker

Wipers operation is a deal breaker for me. This is not a mini van.

Instead, you have a Merc C-Class key wrapped in leather :p Jokes aside, the leather work seems really nice and the build quality is surely improved, though there is still too many plastics for my liking

I am actually beginning to warm to the DB 11.
Ah Jimmy-san (not that you're Japanese or anything - it just sounds cool) you warm the cockles of my heart.
Look, I'm no Aston Martin zealot; I like some of their cars and am ambivalent toward others in the range. But for me - interior foibles aside - there's something charmingly progressive about the DB 11 given how impossible it seemed to be able to take Aston Martin's traditional, beautiful design language forward. They faced a catch-22 scenario of how to balance beauty and progression:
  • Make it too conservatively pretty in the familiar vein of design and face criticism of being stuck in the rut of the familiar idiom.
  • Employ too radical an approach in design and run the risk of losing an essential attribute where exquisite styling is synonymous with the brand and its value proposition.
I feel that the DB 11 is the manifestation of this dilemma and - barring just a few polarising details - succeeds in its brief to usher in a new era of Aston Martin styling.
It's brave - and that's precisely why I like it so much.

Perhaps a bit petty...

Aston Martin offers an assortment of absolutely stunning rims for the Vanquish. It seems as though they are not available for the DB 11.

Or are they ?

True, they have struck the right balance in between....Not too conservative, yet not too radical either...100% Aston Martin...Perfect
