Giulia [Official] Alfa Romeo Giulia

The Alfa Romeo Giulia is a compact executive car produced by Alfa Romeo. Known internally as the Type 952, it was unveiled in June 2015, with market launch scheduled for February 2016, and it is the first saloon offered by Alfa Romeo after the production of the 159 ended in 2011.
I like it albeit it's too much like the Vantage.

They're taking the inspiration from the TZ/TZ2 cars....
The result is a miss match of homages to several Zagatos. The standard Giulia is much nicer.

Anyway, merry christmas brother! Wishing you all the best.

Ok here is a good internal combustion question, given the choice at the same money, this or a new BMW 3.0 CSL? I personally would choose this as it looks a whole lot sexier and more Desirable with a capital D.

The BMW, because as sad as it is, Alfa is a dead brand. Stellantis my ass. Their first attempt at an Alfa is a f'ing joke.

But spec for spec, this Alfa will give the BMW a hell of a tough time.

The fact that it is a one off, takes away the fun a bit, but within that "famous" 10-year plan of Stellantis for Alfa and that announced GTV coupe type, this could have some part or master line of what it will be, although with the EV theme, I don't even remember what they promised with that plan, for now what was done is as basic as the great Tonale, we'll see because there is a long way from verse to action

Now hang on a minute, I don’t think we’ve seen a Stellantis Alfa yet. The Tonale was almost finished when PSA came along and the only thing they did was send the PHEV drivetrain back to the drawing board because its performance wasn’t up to scratch. And this new one-off Zagato thing does not seem to be an official Alfa project at all but rather a one-off coach building exercise between Zagato and a wealthy individual customer.

My gut feel is that we’ll see re-bodied Peugeots as the new Stellantis Alfa models but that might not necessarily be a bad thing. However, if they don’t launch any sedan bodystyles, then I’m definitely out as I’m not the least bit interested in jacked up suspension faux SUV/crossover monstrosities (looking at you, Skoda Enyaq, and also you Kia EV6) with identity crisis as to what type of car they’re trying to be.

It’s a shame that some manufacturers are becoming SUV only brands in some markets.

Thanks for informing this misinformed lug. Always love a good history lesson!

Hope you are enjoyed your Christmas and wishing you (and everyone at GCF) a wonderful new year!

2023 Alfa Romeo 6C supercar teased – long-awaited halo model is coming.

Alfa Romeo to follow up its 8C with a new halo super sports car with both combustion and EV powertrains.

3 Jan 2023

Alfa Romeo has teased a new supercar that will reaffirm its plan to create a new low-production high performance model, just as it did with the 8C Competizione in 2007. The new model is scheduled to be revealed in the first half of 2023 and will act as a bridge between its current combustion engined range and future all-electric models by offering both powertrain options.

Alfa’s no stranger to the limited-run halo model, often drawing from the technical toolbox of its Italian sister companies to create remarkable low-volume models like it did in 2007 with the 8C Competizione (based on the Maserati GranTurismo), and more recently its bespoke 4C and Giulia GTAm. This new model is expected to be called the 6C, however this could change in the lead up to the model’s reveal.

Confirmation of its two powertrains was made by Alfa Romeo chief executive officer Jean-Phillipe Imparato in 2022, suggesting that it will draw its technical makeup from 2022's evo Car of the Year-winning Maserati MC20 which will also soon be available with an all-electric powertrain.

Given its connection to the MC20, the new Alfa Romeo’s technical layout will include a Dallara-built carbonfibre chassis as per the MC20. As for what will power the 6C, it's expected the Maserati's Nettuno V6 engine will be used, enabling a more cost-effective option when it comes to accommodating an electric alternative.

The electric model will swap the V6 powertrain for a combination of batteries and electric motors. As in the forthcoming MC20 Folgore, the battery pack will be stored in an upright configuration behind the cockpit mimicking the weight distribution of the combustion-powered version. The batteries will then drive three electric motors – one mounted on the front axle and a pair of motors on the rear.

The 6C’s design will draw inspiration from Alfa Romeo’s iconic racers of the ‘60s and ‘70s like the 33 Stradale, with organic curves and a triangular grille motif. Alfa Romeo has form when it comes to looking at its past when design a low-volume sports car for today, with the beautiful but flawed 2013 4C showing other manufacturers how retro styling can be reinterpreted to a modern aesthetic.

Its reveal expected in the first half of this year and production is expected to be split between combustion and electric models, and in both cases strictly limited as was the case with the 8C Competizione and Giulia GTA."

Alfa Romeo CEO Promises Something Larger Than A Giulia For North America
Alfa Romeo wants to focus on performance and there will be a priority placed on aerodynamics

Another rebadged Dodge or an Alfa based Dodge?

They stripped out that brand to the point that even Alfsiti doesn’t want their crap.
They should start doing and stop talking.

Fiat should be sued for their sabotage on Alfa and Lancia.

I don't know what they'll do, but it seems like a dejavu of what they've been doing since the 80s and those "new comebacks" that are almost always the same

I wouldn't call it sabotage, but lack of skill, inaction, incompetence, where in the absence of ideas, they accept the first thing that falls to their minds...
Do this because you can't think of anything else, go and go, but calling it "Delta" has no forgiveness

Another? The Dodge Hornet came into the pipeline after the Alfa Tonale, and even then it's using a platform that's been heavily revised several times since it started life as a Fiat platform.

Anyways, it's going to be on STLA Large. The Hornet/Tonale was one of the last FCA products, now we're moving past rebadges and toward the Stellantis shared platform vehicles.

Alfa caused a big bang with the 156 in the late 90s

I could be wrong, but at some point the owners stop seeing Alfa as a "company" and see it each car they launch as a "one-time business", like the Gulia is a good example, they do it and live their cycle alone with nothing else to back it up as a brand, an evil from which auto companies that go bankrupt and are absorbed by conglomerates that are not always prepared to give them consistency.

It feel like each new model are a "let's see what happens", if that punctual car manages achieve a substantive success to motivate the "conglomerate" economically.
