G-Class [Official] "6x6 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG V8 Biturbo"

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class, colloquially known as the G-Wagon or G-Wagen (as an abbreviation of Geländewagen), is a four-wheel drive luxury SUV manufactured by Magna Steyr (formerly Steyr-Daimler-Puch) in Graz, Styria, Austria, and sold by Mercedes-Benz. Originally developed as a military off-roader, later more luxurious models were added to the line. In certain markets, it was sold under the Puch name as Puch G until 2000.
Heck, I'm a big fan of the G-Class and I'm certain that this thing will be the dog's nuts off road but still...

...I can't help but think it looks a bit like a Tonka toy.

That's what makes it so awesome imo, the almost cartoon-like looks.
....it almost looks like the new Grand Theft Auto game in that picture, haha!

Just a real shame it doesn't come in AMG guise.

It exciting to see the pumped up G. Is it only coming in G500 form? Or can we expect G63 in future?

No, I believe it comes with more engines but the G500 is the top version. No AMG, but you never know with Mercedes, obviously. But no AMG right now at least.

Thank you! I think soon or later they might be coming up wit an AMG variant.

Mercedes G63 AMG 6x6 reportedly going out of production

Mercedes G63 AMG 6x6 finally proved Germans have a sense of humor but a new report is indicating the model is being phased out.

While nothing is official, GT Spirit is reporting the model was far more successful than Mercedes originally envisioned as over 100 units have been sold. That's a relatively smaller number and Mercedes wants to keep it that way in order to preserve the model's exclusivity.

While it's sad to see the model go, Mercedes released the first picture of the upcoming G500 4×4² earlier today. It's essentially a smaller and less powerful version of the 6x6 with four wheels.

Lewis Hamilton might buy one? :)

Lewis Hamilton posts photo with Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6, says he might buy one
Costs €451,010
Lewis Hamilton has uploaded on his Facebook account a photo with a 2015 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6.

He is actually thinking about buying the six-wheeled G63 AMG which for the 2015MY costs a steep €456,900. As far as we know, Mercedes-Benz recently ended production of its ultimate off-roader, but obviously they will make another one if the Formula 1 world champion does decide to add to his collection.

Fernando Alonso has another car on his mind, the second-gen Acura NSX, for which he will have to wait a little bit more as the model has apparently been delayed until next spring. In the meantime, the Spaniard published an image with the new Honda Civic Type R which he will probably use until the hybrid supercar will finally go on sale.

Since we’re on the subject of F1 drivers and their cars, we should also mention Felipe Massa (Williams) has a black LaFerrari while Jenson Button owns a McLaren P1. Let’s not forget Hamilton has a bespoke Zonda 760 LH which he drives quite often, so it must be one of his favorite vehicles.

Ten Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6s reach South Africa, might all be bought by the same man

We can definitely see why you would want to buy a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6, but ten? You didn't hear it from us, but somebody might be building a real-life Jurassic Park, and it's located in South Africa.

There's something about this car that makes people want to have it, and it clearly isn't its discreet presence. No further than two days ago, Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton was considering buying one after a close encounter, but he might be a bit biased. He is, after all, under contract with the MERCEDES-AMG PETRONAS Formula One team...

But Lewis Hamilton and his marketing contracts aside, all but one of the autoevolution team members would like one, so that makes for a very convincing percent. And we can't all be short, frustrated men, as the owners of such large vehicles usually get labeled.

Our friends down in RSA (Republic of South Africa) gave us a tip about a delivery of no less than ten such monsters. According to our source (zero2turbo), an undisclosed number out of these ten vehicles are the even more insane Brabus version, with a price tag to match.

The real bombshell is that all ten of these might have been ordered by the same person. Earlier, we were asking why would anyone want ten Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6, but the real question is this: how CAN any single person get his hands on so many limited edition vehicles?

Without any disrespect towards our source, we highly doubt it. Mercedes-Benz ceased production earlier this year after building about 100 units, and with so many interested parties in the middle east (and elsewhere), we'd be surprised if 10% of them all went to RSA. Not to mention to one single person.

But we have to give the benefit of the doubt and consider the story might be true. In which case, there are two possible explanations: the man wants to sell them for a profit later one (smart guy, but also another reason why we don't think Mercedes-Benz would ever sell so many to one man) or he's gearing up for war. In this case, let's hope it's the former.
