GS [Official] 2016 Lexus GS F

That is an interesting shade of purple, works well with the car. and Rebecca Jackson is a pretty good presenter, natural, engaging and thankfully she didn't put on the macho act.

I have seen this car in real life at the Qatar Motor Show and its looks (especially those front lights) are certainly controversial and not in my opinion its best feature. The normally aspirated engine would have been epic if lets say it was a massive 6ltr V8 with a 7500rpm redline and 550 to 600PS output, but at the moment its just mediocre in power and performance.

The brand new Mercedes AMG E43 has 100PS less power, the same torque but is just as fast as the GS F from 0-100km/h in 4.6sec.

It will be a tough choice, N/A V8 vs twin turbo V6. Despite the controversial styling, the GS F looks pretty special, especially with those wheels and brakes combo.

I still like this car a lot, I'm going to try to drive one the next time I take the IS in for service. If it were 10K cheaper I'd really trade up, if it drives well.

Yes, I wish it were affordable. They're just asking too much for it IMO, considering it doesn't match the Germans.
Maybe in a couple years?

For now I'm OK with the normal GS 350 F Sport.

They get heavily discounted towards the end of the model year. They were discounting RCFs up to $15,000 below the MSRP near the end of the 2015 model year. I saw a few on the internet that were brand new selling for $62K - $65K brand new and nicely loaded with options (non-carbon package one's). They will have to do that for the GSFs as well.

I do need a personalized plate. I just don't know what it should say.
I like ultra sonic blue, but I thought it was too flashy. Same goes for molten pearl.

The transmission is its Achilles heel. That's my only real complaint.

Have you seen the 10th anniversary edition?

I would have gone for that interior color if it were offered:

You certainly have a long way from this post :D(y)

Almost two years and 25k :D

Agree with what Matt says, except for the transmission. It's sluggish. You have to change driving mode if you want to do a successful overtake.
He does talk about it more in the podcast with Doug.

There's also this annoying hesitation from 1st to 2nd gear in crawling traffic that 3 different dealers around NYC can't fix.

Also dealer service sucks. Don't know where is the legendary Lexus service people talk about.

About to change brake pads with aftermarket ones since the OEM's are dusty and squeal at random times/temperature.

I keep it in manual and sport+ mode. Never have any issues. It shifts the fastest when you are pushing it in high rpms (which is where Matt is keeping it).

Did you get one too?
If only we had empty twisty canyon roads. Otherwise Sport S+ is not ideal for a 15 MPH traffic jam. Not to mention the fuel. I can't get more than 15 MPG, not that I got it for the MPG's :D

And it defaults to normal mode once you turn it off. Interestingly, it stays in Eco mode if you choose it.

Yeah..it says in my signature. I now have an RCF with Carbon/TVD package (2016). Was going with an '13 E92 M3 before I switched to the RCF. Did not consider the M4 mainly because I wanted high-rev V8.

I am averaging around 20 - 21 mpg mixed spirited driving/granny driving and highway/city driving. All in sport+/manual mode. Yeah, I have to set it every time I turn the car on. I almost never use normal/ECO mode. I have a daily driver that I use 80% of the time while RCF is my occasional car. Garage queen most of the time. Gonna do some mods in the next little while.

What mods?

What mods?

Exhaust comes first. Cannot stand the stock exhaust. It is complete sh*t. Tiny and very quiet. All noise comes from the engine. E92 M3 stock exhaust was louder when I drove them before buying, but there are lots of good aftermarket options available that give it the higher pitch V8 noise. Also, it gains quite a bit of around 20 whp from it.

Sorry, I use my phone, so I can't see signatures.
You in Canada? I wish I could get a Canadian one. For some reason, a lot of the options were omitted from the US cars. Japan has an orange interior option

Mine is daily driven, rain or snow :D. There's an RC-F on the FB group with more than 100k miles.

Love the rarity of it. I get the occasional thumbs up. One time on the Brooklyn Bridge, an NYPD cruiser pulls next to me, asks about it. I jokingly asked if he wanted to swap cars:LOL:.

The only exhaust mode I'd consider is from Novel, but at $12k, it's way out of my budget. And my neighbors would hate me :D

Yeah, I am in Canada. There are only two trims available. One with the Carbon/TVD and 20 spoke hand polished wheels and the other is the standard LSD with the 10 split spoke wheels. Both of them have everything including cold weather package. Mine is the top trim with everything on it.

Mine is a garage queen and gets driven only on special occasions and when running errands etc. Novel exhaust is the best sounding, but I will be going with something that does not cost an arm and a leg like the ark Grip or probably the Invidia like this one
