C-Class (W204) Official: 2011 Mercedes C-Class Coupe (W204)

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W204) is the third generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. It was manufactured and marketed by Mercedes-Benz in sedan/saloon (2007–2014), station wagon/estate (2008–2014) and coupé (2011–2015) bodystyles, with styling by Karlheinz Bauer and Peter Pfeiffer. The C-Class was available in rear- or all-wheel drive, the latter marketed as 4MATIC. The W204 platform was also used for the E-Class Coupé (C207).
So Mercedes will "debut" the car around the time of NAIAS, but it'll be officially shown at Geneva? Considering that MB's Race to the Big Game will end of Feb. 6th, at the Super Bowl, I'm guessing that the coupe will debut in Detroit...but maybe not.

BMW have done this countless times before with key models such as the Z4 Coupe , M3 cabrio , 5er LCI/M5 Touring and 1er LCI all debuting during the duration of the NAIAS.
Even the new 6er Convertible was officially launched on the opening day of the LA Autoshow but did not make an appearance instead it was brought forward from Geneva to Detroit and will make it's Public debut to the NAIAS.

Even when Detroit is in duration you will see pre-Geneva launches such as the SLK and C-Klasse Coupe and a Mercedes-Benz Concept according to industry rumors and as we move into the other annual US winter autoshows in February the MINI Coupe and BMW 6er will be announced prior to major BMW premieres on the opening week of Geneva.

This car puts the new C FL in perspective - everything here looks like a unified whole, with the sleek greenhouse putting the 'expressive' front end in proper context.

The c-pillar looks like the US Accord Coupe more than anything else - not bad since that car's c-pillar originally reminded many of an Aston Martin. It feels very bizarre to see this characteristic enter the MB design universe - it's like a total foreigner here, but it also feels like a great move.

It's odd to think that there's now two mechanically similar coupes in MB's range - but I feel that this is a smart decision and will keep the C-Family exciting and young enough so as to not require a CLS-type solution in the future. This is a good segway towards whatever MB has in store for the next generation C which I believe will be decidedly more sporty and progressive than in years past.

There is something wrong with the pictures. In the picture that looks into the interior you see no B-pillar eventhough from the outside pictures it seems that the B-pillar sits just in the end of the front windows and more so it looks having framsless windows and E-coupe seats. Those pictures are no photos of the real thing but are photoshoped.

You are right, last picture is heavy photoshoped. Just look at the perspective - you should see land outside, instead of sky (unless this car is floating in the air :D )

Overall, this is good move for MB with dropping those strange models like CLC, CLK, CL, and going simple :
C-class: sedan, wagon, coupe (cabrio + crossover in w205)
E-class: sedan, wagon, coupe ,cabrio (and maybe shooting brake)
S-class: limousine(SWB+LWB), coupe, cabrio

Studios 'cheat' all the time for interior shots - often using renders or modified models to achieve the view they're seeking. That in no way proves that these are fake shots. As for the background - all of the advertisement images we typically see that are not part of a press kit are heavily photoshopped.

I've done lots of work with MB and am confident that these images are authentic.

this is obviously photoshoped (or this car is flying in the sky) :D

also doors in the front are frameless -maybe they used E-class coupe elements to make the this "shot" (sorry for double post)

It has now become difficult to argue a case in favor of the E-Class coupe. This new C-Class coupe appears to have made the E a bit redundant, methinks. I may add that I find the C far more attractive to boot.

M-B will surely base the E-Class coupes' successor on the next E-Class. And thus making it an authentic E-Class derivative.

Mercedes couldn´t have done it worse.

Nope, it's the story of the last 15 years basicly (sadly).

Next gen, the E coupe should be a real E coupe, and not a C coupe with wannabe E design elements.
MB should look at BMW, where the 6er is more 7er than 5er, and nowhere near the 3er.
6er and 3er don't conflict in any way.

But BMW needs the 6er to be closer to the 7er than to the 5er, as it is their top Coupe. MB has the CL, and they need to have a proper E-Coupe, a car that costs 3000 or 4000 € more than the sedan, not almost 30 K as the 6er vs 5er (here, in Spain, the F12 650i Cabrio costs the very same as the 750Li).

Every car should have its Coupe, 6er is more a 7er Coupe thna other thing, and if BMW called it 8er, and add another 6er (5 Series Coupe) bellow it, could make sense.

I guess what justifies the extra cost for the "E Coupe" now, are frameless windows that all roll down. :t-crazy2:

Oh, yeah, you're paying extra for the E-Class-esque quad headlights too.

.

Removing B-pillar is not just simple cut. Whole body structure is more weak, so it must be strengthened by extra construction.
(w140 coupe weights 80kg more than sedan with same engine )
That's why this C coupe will have B-pillar , so it could be cheaper from E-class

Looks good, the interior is gorgeous but what's with the side window curving up at the end? Doesn't look very MB to me.

It looks so good. I love it, the perfect middle of 3 Series Coupé and 1 Series Coupé.
