CLS [Official] 2010 Mercedes-Benz CLS

The Mercedes-Benz CLS (initially called the CLS-Class) is a series of executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from December 2003 to August 2023. The original model was a four-door sedan based on the Mercedes E-Class platform, marketed as a four door coupé. An estate (shooting brake) model was later added to the model range with the second generation CLS.
I must be one of few who don't like this much. I think the outgoing model, while simpler, it was so much smoother and the design made more sense.
The side is an absolute mess, there are lines going everywhere at various angles. Then, we have that very classical/traiditional old MB grille, yet it has the most modern futuristic headlight graphics next to it, while the shape of the headlights came from the old Sclass, i think that's a bit weird. The AMG pack has transformers bumpers again, which kinda "matched" the E-class because the E-class was so angular anyway. Then this car has such a smooth rounded roofline, which makes you think that the whole car should have smoother lines (like the S) but no it doesn't. I think it looks pretty hot from the rear. Then the interior, while this one looks good (despite the BMW influence), you got to say the old one looks way more exclusive and special. Despite all these, it does look special and prestiege

Probably my favourite of any car in production at the moment, i love it!

No complaints about the interior, its basically a fusion between all of the line up :D

I like everything about the design of this car except for what is in my opnion too much of a similarity between its headlights and the q7's...

other than that the car is damn near perfect both in and out:icondrool:icondrool:icondrool:icondrool

BTW guys, I´m trying to remember a car that was presented not that long ago... How was its name? it started with an A, and had a 7...

:t-cheers:

It's nice, but it just seems over-deigned to me. I prefer the classical design of the previous generation. I don't like this car sorry. Want to see the interior in luxury trim, not this crap carbon fibre fad on every panel that seems to have swung through the industry. Beige with a dark wood, then I'll make my final decision.

Perfection on wheels, I love the design of this car, I think it's one of the greatest looking cars I've ever seen, I love how neat the shutline turned out, and how clean the wheel arch is, very inspirational design, not simple and not a mess, it's flawless, and the interior is stunning... Great work by the Mercedes Benz designers.... I totally love this car

OHH..that is gorgeousness right there!

Why the third brake light is down in the bumper?

The rear arch looks amazing here indeed. Very effortless, curvaceous, and smooth. However, it contrasts direly with the angular and crisp door messiness going on.

Ok now i'm just confused. When we saw the first undisguised pics; I clearly did not like what I saw. Now... its better no doubt, but just doesn't tag at your heart like the first CLS did. The front is way too bulky and the coupe silhouette just isn't there anymore. :t-hands:

That said, the interior is stunning and the rear is not bad though.

I give it a pass... but that means it will not get the highly coveted 'Wall Paper of the Week' award.

I think that strip of light on the rear bumper is the 3rd brake light, otherwise it would suggest that there is no 3rd brake light??

This was already discussed in the spy photo thread. The 3rd brake light cannot be placed lower than the two other ones, so there's no way any car could have its 3rd brake light on the bumper. That thing on the bumper can only be a rear foglamp.

The 3rd brake light on the new CLS is on the bottom of the rear window:

Exactly. It is forbidden by law to have the 3rd brake light below the regular brake light. For example, one wouldn't be able to see the 3rd brake light when you're close behind the CLS in a traffic jam if the brakelight was place in the lower bumper.

It's a foglight, like the Peugeot 206 which I believe had that first....
(it looks good btw down there in the bumper)
