Some observations about the interior..

I love that the double hump is gone, i mean i always understood why it was there..but wished for a smoother integration. Its often impossible, either you have a double hump or a flip up screen ( both suck)..but in this car due to low seating position and clever design ( the whole thing slopes down as it goes to the right..very subtle;)) they where able to solve it ..and it looks Sleek and sexy..

Stupendously hot steering wheel ;)

The doors are nice as well..it seems like they emulates the character line on the outside..nice touch:)

thats the coolest steering wheel ive ever seen carbon fiber trim is nice as well the first cls blew me away and this one did not dissapoint

Seriously good looking car but i am not fan of the interior, lost much of its character.

I’m not completely sold. Banana profile seem to be gone a little which is a good thing. The design is very busy, too many lines everywhere, almost makes you dizzy. It’s not an elegant car and not very harmonious to the eye. I think the designer tried too much. MB has gone crazy with LEDs, its many of them.
The interior is flawless, no complaints here.

Front – I don’t know, there is something akward with it. It wants to look aggressive but instead it ends up looking kinda thick and clumsy and edgy.

Rear – I simply don’t like the shape of the rear lights.

Profile - the lines are very dominant and visible. I want them to be more subtle. And the sharp ‘wheel arches’, never been a fan of it. I also see some resemblance with Passat CC from rearprofile.

All in all, I wouldn’t call it a beautiful car but it sure is eye catching.

^Soooo what you are saying is.. You don't like the Vagina shaped rear lights? :D

Imo, it looks beautiful. Still for some reasons not as thrilling & stunning as it's 1st gen was at launch! Btw, Cl-S is my only favorite Merc! :D

More colours:D

Ohh black does it guuuud:)
Should help those who whine about the sculptured design of the car..

PS
Can we have white if you got the time??:)

The way the screen is integrated is very nice. Much in the same way as BMW does it lately (since the X5 basicly), but that's not a problem. In this business it's survival of the fittest and everybody takes everybody's ideas sooner or later.
But the size of the scree could have been a bit bigger imo. How many " is it?

For big screens the best way is the Audi way. Por ups screens. I know you hate it, but if the system has quallity, it could end up looking even hi-tech.

I understand how one can relate the integration of the screen to similar BMW recent interiors but this one here takes it to a whole new level of neatness.

Care to explain why, without turning this into a fanboy fight? I think both solutions are virtually identical, and equally nice looking....

In fact, both BMW and MB solutions are pretty much the same:

The lining and overall layout of the CLS seems more posh and elegant than say the 7er,i think it also has to do with the design of the interior, trim and color.

Now you talk about the interior being posh and elegant, I wonder how long has it taken Mercedes to make a round interior. When I see the S-Class I thought "too E65 7er, don´t like the steering wheel", when I saw the C-Class I thought "too plastic, don´t like the steering wheel", and when I saw the E-Class I thought "too angular, don´t like the double hump".

So I guess, this, without counting the SLS, is the best interior MB has designed since the W211 E-Class. It has a nice steering wheel, nice gauges, fantastic seats, no double hump, no pop-up screen...

Agree 100%
And the next gen ML and SL are shaping up nicly interior wise too, so I think the worst is behind us so to speak.

It will be interesting to see what they will do with the interior of the C facelift btw; double hump, pop up or integrated like CLS...all options are possible....:eusa_thin

Yeah, other than the silver colored round they pretty much are....but the next gen 6er will have that too, lol ;)
