[Not So] Random Thoughts...

Damn you for making me look up a word.

That said, I think I agree with them.

Just replace Chernenko with Putin and Reagan with Zelensky.

See, I wasn't sure why you were posting it. I did wonder if it was because of the obvious contradiciton. They say they don't have one because they don't need one, then point out they need one... so just, like, get one dude...

I agree in principle that too much stuff is now dependent on a mobile phone - available on a phone is good, available only on a phone is bad --- but it comes across as just a luddite rant with basically no compelling reasoning.

Well, with people bitching about the cost of food and essentials and striking, I don't see how forcing them to have a mobile phone to make simple online purchases and conduct banking transactions helps that matter. People should be able to cut nonessentials, but if someone makes nonessentials essential, then they can't.

Thing is, a phone is a single point device for many things. Banks, credit cards, Government gateway, music, navigation... all of the freaking internet, e-mails, messages, a camera, an e-reader, audio-books, a device you might not need a TV-Licence for that allows you to watch streaming services, and y'know, just the general thing of being a phone.

Aside from being ridiculously good value for what they are, if you had to pay to be able to do a bunch of the above stuff physically, it would cost more. Quality of Life versus cost... having a mobile phone is a no brainer to me.

.. I'm also questioning the validity of the premise. What, specifically, can you only do with a mobile phone, that you used to be able to without a mobile phone?

If you had to verify a code not a mobile phone, it would cost more? Hell, no it wouldn't. I'm questioning why they think wireless comms are more secure?

If you get married, then buy everything on your mother's name, so your ex-wife is entitled to shit when she decides to divorce you.

German liberals are scared shitless with the "rise of the far right movement" in Germany. Now, can anybody please tell me what the "German far right" is all about? Is it a libertarian movement who wants Germans to have the right to bear firearms? Or is far right a synonym of anything that isn't in favour of the woke agenda?

In modern day Germany, everyone is right or far right that isn't left-green.

AFD programm is, on it's main points, not so different from CDU/CSU programm ten years ago.

Trump lost the election the moment he lost the Congress, and anybody with common sense knows that a president is doomed once he loses the congressional majority
