Hi, I just read that NIO is coming to Germany in 2022. It's already in Norway, so I wanted to ask the EV fans if you'd get one if it's also available in the UK at some point. I think the NIO ES 8 visually appealing and the price is also quite fair for an SUV. Tesla is already a lot more expensive with the Model X. However, I can't say much about the performance differences between the two.
What do you think?

The NIO ES 8 has been enjoying some coverage in the German automotive media and it's reception has been very favorable. List price projections for the base model are in the vicinity of 50K Euros, full-fat configurations approx. 70K. Hence, for an SUV of this size and with its' various positive attributes, it has the makings of being a top value-for-money choice for many potential buyers. A large portion of "German input" in the development of the ES 8 may also sway more than a few shoppers onto the NIO website.

This is big news. I hope that the German people give NIO a fair go and that their cars aren't painted as spy vehicles for the Chinese government.

The company certainly looks great on paper. I think they're the most interesting Chinese brand with the highest quality cars. If they enter Germany, it will still be difficult because the German customer is very traditional and will continue to buy German. I wish them the best of luck. Does the Battery as a service concept make sense? I'm torn...

Marketing will be of absolute essence (establishment of brand stores, user-friendly online presence for configuration/ordering, etc.). And, of course, a truly compelling value-for-money product.

German customers are incredibly risk averse regardless of product category. The main way of winning them over is to allow them to try/sample a product for free.

I was waiting for this.
The ET5 will as far as I know offer the best EV range out of all reputable brands with it's 150kwh battery packed in a car the size of Model 3. It looks good and quite premium too.
Price it right and I might finally board the EV train.

It looks like Nio will soon launch a Shooting Brake Nio ET5.

Could this be the worlds best looking estate? It does look kinda pretty. Love the wheel designs.

Has a very nice looking interior, a bit similar to the interiors of the latest Polestar/Volvo models. Exterior looks modern and sleek
