911 (992) New Porsche 911 Turbo (992) Spyshots

The Porsche 992 is the eighth generation of the Porsche 911 sports car, which was introduced at the Porsche Experience Center in Los Angeles on 27 November 2018.
Will be interessting! I fear the 992 turbo will add weight! Already the 992 Carrera added significant weight compared to the 991 Carrera!
So what power output do you expect from the 992 turbo S?
Imho, the 992 turbo will be >200kg heavier than the 720S!
And we are talking real dragstrip performance here ... so very sticky tarmac and heated tires ... imho a 992 turbo S would then need also around 700hp to beat a 720S. Do you expect such a large power bump?

720S is only limited by traction. With better tires and good conditions it runs 9.8 seconds at ~145 mph consistently in the 1/4. Even on the street it will run 2.6-2.7 seconds to 60 mph and 5.2 seconds to 100 mph with warm tires. Turbo S launches harder no doubt, but from 50 mph onward they are on a different planet.

Is Porsche on the threshold of presenting my personal favorite 911 Turbo/Turbo S of all time ?

Has any new model Turbo not been your new favorite of all time or did a release ever disappoin...

Actually, the Turbos have never been my favorite 911s'. I began to appreciate them a bit more following the presentation of the 991 series. I've often yearned for a visually more subtle "Werksversion" of the Turbos-somewhat ala RUF.

Yep, the botttom lip was missing on that leaked 992 Turbo. This is perfect, continuing the tradition of being the best all-round sports car:

This new 911 Turbo S is a stunning looking machine. I do like its discreet but classy styling. It's a iron fist in a velvet glove kind of car.
